Remco 1st, that's interesting. I like Hirschi as a dark horse if you can call him that. He's been flying lately (somewhat under the radar outside of the Grand Tours) and he will be pushed forward by the home crowd. Yesterday you could get him at 19 to 1.
@CyclingGuy19 сағат бұрын
Hirschi is a very good pick IMO, even though after having seen what we saw in the women's race: it's easy to make this a hard race, yet it's very hard to drop the other favorites, and even when you manage, there's time for them to come back (as Kopecky did today) - this does not play into Hirschi's advantage in my book - it shows to me that MVDP will be a real contender here, and that there's plenty of in between rolling slightly uphill stretches where Remco can try and surprise. Enjoy the race!
@Mike-rm1lb16 сағат бұрын
@@CyclingGuy Tx for the response. I should have checked his sprint points on PCS before putting in my 10$. See you at the charity homeless canteen next week😅. I watched part of the women's race too. I agree it's hard to stay away. Looks like they spend a lot of energy getting to the crest of the hill, thinking they've got it made. Then they chill a few seconds, but it starts rolling again and they can never recover from the initial effort. So chasers gradually roll them back over the next kms, on a plateau that looks like a saw, with more attacks all over the place. It's a great course for tv. Marc will have to hold his fire, save his legs and attack on one of the very last upswings. Let Pog, Remco, and Mathieu do the work. He did well in Bretagne, it's all up and down. I think it's a good pick, for some reason Betway have him at 21.

Hoi Hans, more than welcome to the community! And even better to hear that the word is spreading, thanks for that Swiss!!! And for sure, we can disagree, as long as the discussion stays constructive and positive, I'm all ears 😉 - really like your 2 picks who find a course here that suit them. I did not go with Onley, because it's hard for young riders to impress on first participations at the Worlds and I've been going with Bagioli in the past, yet he has always disappointed me (never doing better than 39th in the Worlds, out of 4 participations), here again, I'd love both of them to prove me wrong - enjoy the race ey!

It's a coin flip between Remco and Tadej. Despite my Dutch heritage and love of orange, I can't see MVP making the final group-maybe a top 10. Losing weight makes him more interesting, but not enough to bite. I'll take Jorgensen for third. My heart hopes for a great ride from my man, Gee.
@CyclingGuy2 күн бұрын
Jorgenson and Gee are both great picks IMO, yet I keep on feeling that people underestimate MVDP - that steep ramp is punchy and should suit him and I’ll not so sure they’ll drop him on the 5 to 6% incline afterwards - he can gamble and follow wheels behind for it to come back together OR he can send it from far out, let’s see ey, I’d love to see him disrupt the race - enjoy

All that fuss about the dark horse at the start of the video made me think you were going to go really obscure like Eulálio for Portugal or Eyob for Eritrea, but I guess Powless is a great choice. Not only is he good, he's in one of the (if not the) strongest teams in the race (look out for Vermaerke as well, he's looking good this season). But I'm hoping for a Pog v Remco sprint to the line, that'd be so cool (or, y'know, a Portuguese win haha, seems very unlikely though). Anyway if none of the big guns get away solo from far out for the win, I'd say we're up for a cracking race on Sunday, so enjoy it. Cheers :)

I had high hopes for Carapaz to secure a stage win or at least a podium finish on Stage 20. It might be prudent for EF to consider transitioning Carapaz into a dedicated stage rider role, given his success in that capacity. It was disheartening to see that, on almost every mountain stage, Carapaz was isolated in his efforts, while riders like Roglic, O’Connor, and Mas benefitted from substantial team support. As an EF supporter, I believe it is crucial for the team to assemble a competitive squad around Carapaz to enhance his chances in future races. In any case, I hope McNulty takes Stage 21 for us!
