I saw this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3PcomaMp6dqsJo) and instantly thought of your game! I know music choice is one of the last parts of game development, and there are so many more things to consider in an composer, like cost and time, and whether or not you should even get one, but maybe you could get one with handpan experience!

Wow the game looks very good so far! I would really like to see it get done, but I am worried that the game will fall victim to something called scope creep. scope creep is when you just keep adding things and lose sight of the final product and are just swamped in things that detract from the final experience and the game becomes impossible to finish developing. just a word of advice keep things simple make the base game first just a bare bones version of the final product add only necessary features then once the game is fully playable from start to finish you can add other things polish EXT. I myself have started working on lots of project and have them fall victim to scope creep.

Hey! Will this be on itchio or Steam? Also, you should zoom the game in a bit. Not sure how easy that is to do in Godot, since I use GDevelop. Looking good so far, and and the name is good.

- the jittering in the back paralax can be fixed using resolution of the level. When the level is 1920x1080, the sprite should be 1920x1080 as well or something that fit that resolution exactly, the mirroring should work properly then.

I don’t use godot but usually the jittery is due to the dampening of the camera

Name idea for the game. what about The Sporeborne Realms?
@zucchini_ackerman6 ай бұрын
It's looking great so far, good job! I've never used Godot, but maybe you can use something like the vines but with reverse gravity for the grass? About the jittery background, if you mean how the camera makes hard stops and instantly accelerates to follow the player, maybe you can separate the camera from the player so the player is not always centered? If you can do that, then the next step would be obtaining the x and y difference between the centerpoint of the player and the centerpoint of the camera, and adding a small fraction of that difference every frame to the camera position. That should make the camera follow the player smoothly without jittering. The smaller the fraction, the smoother the camera movement, but also increases the risk of having the player overrun the camera. There may be better ways to do it, but I don't know how. About the game's name, maybe a pun phrase like "There's Mush Room in My Solium" could work? (Mix of "There's much room in my throne" and "There's a mushroom in mycelium")
@ItsCiaPro6 ай бұрын
what node did you use to make the background?
@Upside-out6 ай бұрын
I used a sprite2D for the blue colour, and canvaslayer2D nodes for the paralax layers.

Hey, glad I found this! I too am a start-up Game Dev. The character model looks great and I hope you continue this project! As for a name, muscaria is the name of the red-capped mushroom. If we add the latin prefix for location, we get Muscarium, meaning Place of the Red-Cap Mushrooms. Alternatively, you could take the genus, which would sound like Amanitum, meaning place of the agaric mushrooms. Cheers!
