Chris, please do a few more sectional chart reading sessions as you did in this video. Then keep adding more information. For example as you talk about the airspace, you then add on VFR requirements etc. Your sectional reading is the best I have seen among so many others. The red markings are so helpful. Many other videos are difficult to follow simply because I can't follow the little pointer fast enough, especially on the small screen of a phone, and the presenter tends to talk too fast.

Outstanding advice! I'm going to share this with my students. In the Army, we have the value of 'Selfless Service'. Servant leadership and humility are KEY both in the cockpit and the work/social environment. Be humble, and OTHER people will brag for you. It's even key for Crew Resource Management and ADM. Like the blue angels say in their debriefs... "Happy to be here boss." Even the LEAD. Thanks for this!

Well said @ronsflightsimlab9512! I remember as a young ROTC cadet attending Airborne school seeing a newly minted 2LT helping a PFC shine his boots before formation one morning. It left a permanent mark on my memory of what to be...

Long time Airline Pilot here. Your recommendations are spot on. We are all qualified or we wouldn’t be here. We need to work together as a team. We need to contribute and take criticism in order to grow. At the major airlines, after the probationary period, Pilots are almost never fired for lack of competency, they are fired for their personalities. Being a pain in everyone’s ass and the company building a large file of incidents that you caused, will eventually get you hated by all and eventually fired. In my opinion, the two worst traits in my flying partner are arrogance and incompetence.

Did fly for 135 and 91 for the last 20 years. If you get lucky with 91 owner it’s the best place to work but you never know how long it will last . part 135 least money but it’s more stable
@captainchris02112 ай бұрын
I agree...love my 91 job but the stability of 121 or a big 135 sure is nice.

Nice explanations but assuming we know all that is bizzare. You end up skipping stuff I don't know and apperently I need to know all that to fly a drone.

Hi Chris. You have done really great video. Thanks a lot. I’m CFI with 660 hours, trying to figure which route to choose 121 or 135. As of right now I would like to get a job as SIC. Want to get couple advices from you. Should I pay for the type? Or it’s too early for me ? How I can get in touch with you?

A really clear technical & practical explanation of this subject. Interesting how the Air Speed dropped from 94 to 90 knots when the engine was being leaned & climbed again when the mixture was made rich corresponding to changes in RPM.

Hello Captain Chris I gotta say, this was an excellent presentation on multi engine asymmetrical thrust. I especially love the section on the thrust force multiplied by the arm to give you the moment but shows that the left engine is less than the right engine However, you made one minor error, which is probably just a minor oversight, that really needs to be corrected. At exactly 12 minutes and 41 seconds into your video, you showed the diagram of what happens if the right engine fails; Specifically, the force times arm equals a moment of four. The error was you stated that the airplane would yaw towards the left, on a right engine failure, and you drew a line with an Arrow from the nose of the aircraft curved towards the left. This is a mistake, as the aircraft would actually roll towards the dead engine, which in your first scenario is the right engine, not the left engine. For reference, here is the link below: When your engine fails, the airplane will yaw and roll towards the dead engine. You will need to put in up to 5 degrees bank with your aileron to combat the rolling tendency, and ruder towards the operating engine to combat the rolling tendency. Engine Out Procedures - Flight Training Centers flighttrainingcenters.com/training-aids/multi-engine/engine-out-procedures/#:~:text=When%20your%20engine%20fails%2C%20the,to%20combat%20the%20rolling%20tendency. Additionally, I would recommend that you at least have your email address on your KZbin channel so people can contact you rather than posting online for minor comments

I notice that Sacramento Exec and Sacramento International airspaces overlap from 1600 feet to 2500 feet. How does that work? Who do you call if you were flying through that sliver of airspace??? I know what I would do, but the FAA has regulations for absolutely everything so there must be something in writing.

Sorry did you say airline will pay for ATP training?
@captainchris02114 ай бұрын
Yep. You show up with the required hours and one of your checkrides (typically the one before your type rating) is for the ATP. In my case, the ATP checkride and the type rating were one day apart.
