When I was a boy, in the very early 1960's, my best friend and I used to hang out right at the edge of the platform here, where you show the photographer taking photos of this historic train and its engineer. There was a guardrail right at the edge, [0:38 seconds of your video] it was cast iron pipe, painted black and it was the width of the platform edge and about 36" high. BTW, we used to wait for our favorite engineer, Bill, who used to swing by almost every Saturday afternoon, going to Washington, D.C. He always used to be at the helm of our favorite engine, the Pennsylvania Railroad's GG-1. Absolutely beautiful electric engine!! Look it up if you're not familiar with it. I'll bet, in your next video at Newark's Penn Station, if you go to the edge of this platform, you'll probably see the holes in the concrete platform, where this guardrail used to be. I've just subscribed to your videos and I just can't wait... Again, thanks for posting this video...it's great to see after 60 years away from my "second home"...Newark's Penn Station!

The Avelia is stunning! Not sure why people constantly make a fuss about the cross section, TGV Duplex cars don't match up with their cars and nobody complains. I'm certain the engineers at Alstom did that for a reason.
