As someone who watches Adam Savage's channel (TESTED), was oddly funny-but-cool to hear a classic Mythbusters quote from someone OTHER than him. He does TONS of MB Q&As though, as he still loves everything Mythbusters, which is awesome! Particularly since it means we can still live it in a way.... If I had to guess, it's likely from the 50s, but in perfect condition. Cables have seen better days of course, as their sleevings are all "weather checked" _(for lack of a better word, given it lives in a box)._ _<insert "IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!" soundbite here>_ It's heavy, mostly due to that D-cell. But otherwise very portable! It's only about as big as my S23 Ultra, if memory serves... granted, *7x as thick* as one! lol _edit: huh I could've _*_sworn_*_ Fluke, the brand, had two Us..._ 🤨 _Weird... Maybe I've jumped to another reality again._ 🤷‍♂️ _(that's how I explain away my memory recall errors lol)_

On the subject of cinema being not worth it. I went to see Blade Runner 2049 at the cinema. It was so much better on the big screen than it was on Blu-Ray at home.

The multiple timeline theory is the only way time travel actually works though. They even bring it up in BttF2 Paradoxes are only a failure of our thinking process, they can't actually occur Therefor for time travel to be possible, it must work in a way where paradoxes don't happen However that means the past is immutable, making time travel useless since you can't change your past, only make a new one And thus if you stick with the new timeline, you have abandoned your family/loved ones of the old timeline

Old man movies? I'd still be over the moon if I could see William Shatner play Kirk one last time! I think it would be a good opportunity to have him play a more cerebral version of the character. Like they made Picard more of an action hero in the TNG movies, Kirk could be more like Picard from the TV series and have to save the galaxy without any flying kicks.

Nah. There's a fundamental difference in the consumption of a film in a movie theater than at home. I don't think there's anything "sacred" about it though; that would be a very strange way to characterize the differences in mediums. For one thing, the social and cultural act of "going out to the movies" is a unique activity that connects people together in specific ways and acts as a platform for socially cohesive interactions. Then there's just being in a dark room watching the movie on a big screen; this can be replicated to some degree at home, but anything that takes attention away from the movie breaks the trance that being in the movie theater induces (by "trance," I mean it in the psychological way, not in the watch dangling way)

It's awesome to watch you hack while ranting about movies. I found out a new setting for Nintendo switch controller. You can change button mapping in the switch setting menu. For example, you can remap the Dpad arrows to ABXY. It might make it simpler for you so you don't have to rewire the pins. Edit: Forgot to mention, the setting is per controller. So you can continue playing with regular controller on default mapping.

40:13 i stepped on a razor blade and it sliced a deep cut into the meat if my foot. It severed some nerves and i lost feeling in my little toe. 2 years later it was finally back to normal and i had full feeling in all my toes.

Switch dpads are required to suck because on the joycons dpad buttons have to be able to push all 4 at once for the lame mini 2 player mode. Still sad about it.
