This is a necessary service supporting our aging population especially in our rural communities.

Yes, it really is! We are happy to be highlighting that EVERYONE can use it, but the aging population is definitely a large amount of passengers utilizing the rural public transit services in Nebraska.

Legally someone can't be on the scooter during transport, correct?

Legally someone can ride on a scooter in Public Transportation. Scooters fall under Other Power Driven Mobility Devices and are covered by the ADA. There are size limitations in the ADA of 30” X 48” and do not fit on to the ramp/lift. The issue comes down to not denying a trip based on someone's choice in mobility device. The ADA has supplemental information here archive.ada.gov/opdmd.htm.

@Nebraska Public Transit I was told that 3 part scooters cannot have the rider on it during transport due to the risk of it breaking apart in an accident.

This vid is really informative! I've been trying to look for a KZbin video that really breaks down the ideas in this vid. 🧑‍⚕️Your vid actually is similar to the channel of Dr. Ethan! Doctor's videos are really insightful and I actually learned a lot for my school. He is the helpful med student in the UK and he talks about diabetes and conditions.
