How did you get permission to fly a drone there being as it’s a heavily security restricted area because of the nuclear power station? I’m hoping to film a documentary in that area later this year that includes drone footage but can’t get ATC clearance.
@UKDroneAdventures15 күн бұрын
@@JuanCarlosTalamantes75 Take a look at some of the comments below. I didn't get any permission. NATs said that flying a drone was not advised but if you do then use caution and follow the drone code, so that's what I did.
@JuanCarlosTalamantes7515 күн бұрын
@ CAA operate the overall airspace and NATS just operates ATC. We’ve spoken to CAA Airspace Regulation Operations and was told under no conditions can a drone be operated in that area. We even spoke to the Media team at EDF and they said the same but also added that anyone operating a drone in that area will be dealt with by the Civil Nuclear Constabulary as a severe security threat. The CNC are present at Heysham 24/7 and patrol the area. It leaves us with a bit of a problem regarding production and may have to cancel the project if we can’t come to an agreement.
@UKDroneAdventures15 күн бұрын
@ I find it all quite confusing to be honest. DJI geofencing was fine with this and the NATS app also said drones must follow the drone code, which I did. I just followed the information that I had at the time. I was a long way from the power station.

Hi, thanks for the information on the video. Ignore people talking about your voice you are fine. My only suggestion would be to make the audio come out of left and right channels as it only came out of the one. Don't worry though we all make that mistake at some point! Especially if you are editing in Davinci Resolve!

OMG : my Nan and Grandad used to live here, obviously we only saw the last build before the Great Storm in the late '70s. Never realised it went out that far. Amazing footage, the arcades opposite were demolished shortly after and used as carparks. We used to go on the mystery Trail at Whitsun. Book in hand at the local shops to get clues. That was when community existed. X ❤

Hi I went in search of the abandoned railway coaches, couldn't quite work out where you stood to fly ? Managed to get the drone up of Healey Lane, but either the carriages have all been removed or I wasn't quite over enough.. Couldn't find any location nearby to get better visual access to see the old carriages if there still there, suspect they have all been removed now
@UKDroneAdventures8 ай бұрын
I haven’t been there for a while, you can see the coaches here on my website Google map link: www.droneadventure.co.uk/places-to-fly/healey-mills-derelict-train-lines-with-train-carriages/ I managed to walk inside as there was a gate open for a small fishing lake.

I'm not really a drone man, myself...But a part of me wonders how far I might get with a cheap GoPro knock-off and a family sized fishing rod?... 📸🎣🙃
@UKDroneAdventures11 ай бұрын
You’d have to climb into the plughole, which would scare me a bit but would work. 👍
@dieseldragon675611 ай бұрын
@@UKDroneAdventures Theoretically speaking; If the fishing rod was long enough and well balanced (Easy enough to do) you could achieve it from the adjacent viewing platform. Simply dangle the camera from the line and _carefully_ lower it down the hole! 📸🕳😇 (The best option would be a cheap action cam with wi-fi functionality attached to a high visibility float. This would broadcast the footage to your smartphone for as long as radio range holds out whilst also recording to the internal SD card, but adding the float ensures it stays above water and in the event of loss can be recovered downstream with little risk of harm to the environment. 🌍👍)
