I could have done without the crap about WOKE and DEI because the first term, which began as a protest cry by a Republican youth organization during Abraham Lincoln's presidential campaign, has become so bastardized by both ends of the political spectrum that it is now fairly meaningless, and because the second term includes human beings which the new governor and millions of other people apparently don't think exist or don't want to exist. I was a teacher at a local High School for two years, and I was working for a non-profit organization called Jobs for West Virginia Graduates. The program ran out of money because the last governor decided to cut off funds and go with the Communities in Schools initiative instead. JWVG had for years been doing the same work for a faction of the cost of CIS. I taught job skills, life skills and community skills to at-risk teenagers who were being left out because of family trouble, brushes with the law or simply no one to care about them. Some were angry, some were mentally or emotionally challenged, or a combination of these. All were gifted. They all fit under the general definition of DEI students. So please, Governor, stop using the terms and start caring about the students who fall under them as you define them. Special needs students deserve much more than a label. Apologies for the length of this post.

AWESOME. Now where is a place to camp where we can ride to the Tornado trail head? Realize 90% of us that will use Tornado, buying HMT trail passes, food, fuel etc travel upwards of 2-300 miles and plan to spend at least a few days (camping) to make it worth our while.

I was in Roncerverte WV and we had a old style metal arch bridge across the river. It was about twenty feet above the river bed and the force of the river water started to make the bridge bend and slide on its concrete pillars it was an amazingly powerful sight. Some old locals claimed to have seen the famous Moth-man on the bridge that day. Can’t say yes or no but I did see a steel bridge floating in the current!

I remember that vividly. My mother was a nurse and helped the victims and family members. Very sad day in 1968. 😢

damn, I remember climbing into the pressbox with friends when I was a kid. Lot of awesome Friday Nights took place on that field.
