I would stick a stick in there to keep the tension, then remove it once the other end is secure . Or keep a toggle on the ends or at least one end. Great demo.

Excellent presentation; you've been in the mob, I can tell. I'm going to make some of these for my hootchie; it looks a lot cleaner and simpler than my existing in place ridgeline with prussic knot tensioners. I do like the bungees for speed but they are limited. I bought some new ones the other day, good quality and they weigh 500g for two; far too heavy to add to my kit. Subbed and liked.

Great video fella. I've got a load of that gear and yes it's heavier but good god it's strong . You can batter that stuff. I had the 1980 bouncing bomb and it last ages until the feathers started attacking me and I had to retire it. Lol 😆 looking for another now. Great concise and to the point video. Keep up the good work sir. I just subbed mate. Love from South wales.

hi mate great content! If you have a sec perhaps can help me with something? I bought some beads 10mm x 9mm of 3mm hole with the idea of following this tutorial. My paracord does not fit at all thru the 3mm. Could you give a few pointers at what type of paracord to buy and perhaps what beads size would be best to use with it? Thanks in advance!

Hello mate, a 3mm hole is pretty small! I used beads with a 5mm hole in this video which worked really well. The paracord is 550 and I took the inner strands out and used one to help put the beads on as per the video. I hope this helps 👍

Jungle cord and shoulderstrap pad (Tree protection) round tree. Soft shackle that knots into JC. Continuous loop ridgeline through SS, split over and under tarp, only passes through centre tape on top. CR line has inline prussiks to allow tensioning and adjustment for both square and diag pitches, set underneath for ease and comfort of use. Corner tapes have a small toggle permanently attached that hooks to prussik loops on top line only, allowing tensioning/sag adjustment. I made the CRL at just over 4.2m which is the diagonal span. Internal portion of the CRL allows hanging of items above hammock, Which also hangs off the J Cords 👍 Cracking video on a brilliant tool.

Great knot for non-loadbearing solutions, with 4 cautions: 1. Putting a knot in a cord weakens it. I'm not saying using many knots has a multiplier effect but it can't be good. 2. It shortens the cord greatly if you need to conserve. 3. It's trouble to untie if you're forced to for another application. 4. It could discourage the lazy from learning the knots which it replaces, which might not be beneficial down the line. Nonetheless, very worthwhile video. Love your channel!

I think it is a clever thing I will give a go. I know my knots and I think any weakening would have to be an issue only after prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain for weeks on end. Having said that, all your points are valid.

Bungees shouldn't be stretched more than 60% otherwise they will fail plus, they have a nasty habit of taking your eye out or giving you or someone close by a Black Eye. Jungle Knots, Jungle String, John Cord (I made a comprehensive video on it a couple of years ago, now copied by Greencraft and Becks Bugout Survivor, such is KZbin,) is good kit, but it takes up more room in your Kit when Hanked than ordinary Paracord and using the Robert's Toggle No Knot Ridgeline then, you're up and running in minutes. I am only using Jungle Knots/Cord now to suspend my Hammock as it saves on straps, Karabiners and all sorts of unnecessary weight. Spacing for the overhand knots is usually 4 fingers. I never need to have mine taught to stop them falling out and you can always stick a temporary toggle in there if needed.

I use 3mm comms cord, it doesn’t stretch like 550 and isn’t as prone to tangling either. It has been more than strong enough as well. I pinched Greencraft’s idea of using a toggle on the end. He did admit that jungle knots wasn’t his idea, although he did say he adapted it to use with said toggles. I make up lengths of around 10 feet. I wrap the cord around the toggles, and dump them in a pouch along with my ridge line and extra 550 paracord.
@RobertsBulgaria
@RobertsBulgaria 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mat-kr1nf I don't know what 'Comms Cord' is? I mean I guess it is an abbreviation for Communications Cord, but I don't know what it is made from and 3mm - doesn't it cut into the tree bark? Jungle string has its uses, but I find it is bulky to hank and store if you're making long ridge lines plus it uses a lot of cordage to make up the lengths over using straight cordage. I designed my own Robert's Toggle system for ordinary Paracord or any cordage rapid ridgeline use, but I don't really see how or the need for Toggles with Jungle String and I am a great believer in using Toggles to spread the load through eyelets etc. I'll have to go back and look at what Neal did in his video as there was a spate of Jungle Cord/String videos came out weeks/months after mine. Bex Bugout Survivor did one too and a bloke in Finland was quoting John Cord in Finnish which I found amusing. Looking forward to finding out what 'Comms Cord' is. Cheers.

@@RobertsBulgaria Hi Robert first, apologies, it known as “comms”, not, “coms”🤓. Secondly, it’s 1.5mm, not 3mm. Anyway, you’re right, it’s communications cord (had very enlightening read on how it’s usemd and how to set up a temporary base, sentry placements and the like!). To be quite honest, I never considered about wether it would damage the bark, The trees where I camp tend to be either birch, hazel or willow, so not so much of an issue. I find the toggles handy for putting through the hanging strap things on my tarp, or for fastening two lengths together, plus just for wrapping the cord round for storage. I also just like the look of them to be honest!🤷‍♂️😂 Here’s where I got mine, I was looking for 3mm paracord and found this, thought it might work, and it did! www.endicotts.co.uk/collections/bungees-para-cords-and-elastics/products/comms-cord-1-5mm-x-30-metres-premium-olive

@@Mat-kr1nf That makes perfect sense and I am of the opinion that there are no Tablets of Stone or Rule Book on which Knots one uses, which Tarp configuration one uses, it is up to the individual to find what works best for them albeit, KZbin in this genre has to be about sharing ideas and methods and not telling viewers that they must have must buy this that or the other. 👍

@@RobertsBulgaria Absolutely! It’s a smorgasbord of ideas to peruse and consume as one wishes!😋😁. I watched one video about ultra light tracking or camping. Nope, I’ll stick with KZbinr’s who keep it real you. 🧐 P.S. I had a holiday in Bulgaria a few years ago, beautiful country, Wild flowers everywhere.
