im sitting here crying 12 years after this was uploaded. Louis went on to be the badass trumpeter he deserves to be. Surely this moment here was a huge step in his career, playing Wayne's on rendition right in front of him with a room full of musicians... Has got to be one of my favorite come ups! What an inspiration. Never stop playing!

What does Grade 8 mean?
@DellDoll2325 күн бұрын
It's the last grade exam you can take through the ABRSM. So to call this trumpet grade 8 is saying it's able to play well all the technique and expression needed to pass any performance exam.

Video is old but ooooo man that boy at the time is a natural trumpet 🎺 gift ! To attack the high note like that when he picked up the trumpet after the flugelhorn solo. It's amazing ! It's not just about air, his embouchure is perfect for trumpet

Available now on CD? Great - I hope it's not as horribly compressed as this example.

this was on Irish radio, as part of an interview, while I was driving around in June 2020 at the top of Donegal, near the ocean. I fear that the Ireland of that beautiful, dramatic day has gone for ever, due to the miserable Marxists that have jabbed everyone. But we'll at least have the music and the memories.

Just watched a masterclass by Louis. He said he would listen to Wayne every day for hours and hours. To include up till 5am and go to school at 8am.

There’s so much less to this Arrangement than the Maynard version. Nice to hear that the GOATS can still make it worthwhile

WOW 😯 Those are incredible high notes. That’s a TON of pressure and he did a lot better than I would’ve done in that situation. My only criticism is that he doesn’t have a great tone in the middle of his range.

I love how Philip Cobb makes a corner sound like a cornet and a trumpet a trumpet. He alternates between the two beautifully. A credit to the instruments. He gets better and better.
