I was in the press box for that 1987 Michigan game, the guest of my former boss and IU Official Athletic Department Photographer, Dick Beikman. I can attest to the volcanic roars of the IU fans throughout that game. I was screaming to the point that I was afraid that I'd be asked to leave, as our booth was right next to the coaches'. I soon learned that practically every IU partisan in the entire press box was going uncharacteristically crazy, as time ticked off the clock in the fourth quarter, the skies darkened and the stadium lights brightened, the wind howled the rain sideways across the field, and Bo Shembeckler's bag of tricks had run empty. Never has an IU victory ever felt so sweet.

I was at that IU Michigan game. Will never forget it. Go IU.

I've been listening to Don since his first year on the job. Back in the day when not all games were televised, I would lay in the floor with my eyes shut while I listened to his call of the game. I could always see the game in my mind's eye by the description he gave. Don is one of the best ever. Any sport. Any team. No question.
