Now, for some tiny nuance, the ruling party and its allies didn't actually get 100% "of the vote" but "of the seats". In a first-past-the-post electoral system this could even be a low percentage of votes. However, those elections WERE indeed a farce, that I remember, and since Susan Rice legitimized them, at least she should have the decency to recuse herself from Ethiopia policy-making today.

Yes, we did. Many in fact. That wasnt the only election. During the 2005 election, the prime minister at the time declared marshall law and went on a tear. Shut down polling stations, murdered, imprisoned, tortured oppositions and journalists- got "99%" of the vote. This woman seems to think it's hilarious. I really hate politicians.
