Thank you. It makes perfect sense though I really don’t know what I’m talking about. A screenplay writer should understand that the director, for example, is like a person sitting in a cinema theatre, so if the director doesn’t ‘get’ or appreciate the first draft, that segment of audience the director represents would not like it. So, it’s in the writer’s best interest to reflect and adjust without losing the idea. It’s like polishing a rough diamond to project the light of the idea in the most beautiful way.

8:16 😊Imagine the writer seeing how the rest of the film team bring it to life. Literally. How they (through a light placed in a certain way or a prop, or acting, or a sound they had not even imagined) reveal other facets and depths unknown even to the screenplay writer! Imagine the delight of the screenplay writer being surprised.

I found this short video to be extremely insightful with specific examples of the basic building blocks a TV show needs in order to be a continuing series. Having a basic idea for a show and some of the elements I want to include has not been enough for me to build a cohesive pilot script. Here, William has explained in very simple terms how the pieces should fit together. Thank you.

If you don't sell your soul for fame and fortune you would not become a Screenwriter, an actor, or whatever. It's a scam you pay all your money to screenwriting consultants and a producer will not read your script if they don't know you and they definitely will not buy it if you don't have a name for yourself. I decided to save my money and invest it in mutual funds and retire or maybe start my own business. But giving my money away to screenwriting consultants is something I will never do again. Yes I want to be a millionaire but I will never become a millionaire by writing screenplays nore I will never get my script sold. I will just save my money and become a millionaire by investing my money.

Some screen writers are good with words, and any story fits the format even it is not entertaining. Other writers have just NEED to get that story out of their heads because it comes involuntarily, and the writing is there to convey a thought that is longer to show than it is to remember

I was listening to this script consultant tell wannabe screenwriters that if they want to sell their first script they must make a short 10 minute script first and send it to some website then he said. "Oh, and don't worry about someone stealing you screenplay because no producer or agent will want your story trust me." I don't know who will take this man's word because last time I checked you don't supposed to trust anyone. I told this black lady at the copyright office and she told me don't listen to that man you get your work copyright..

Love the fact that Professor Gulino? Takes his time with the delivery, i.e. lets US digest. Finding-One's-Voice just can't be rushed. Everything we're schooled is precious. "Fits together and has an important place. Music to my ears all of it.

En español los escritores intentan darles pistas al público para que quiera predecir o anticipar lo que va a pasar, entonces justo ahí se puede poner un punto de giro, un twist, algo inesperado. La peli q creen q están viendo vrs la peli que en verdad están viendo.

Fury Road was the best mainstream film of the last decade. That doesn't mean he's wrong. I'd say that Fury Road was more akin to an extended action scene from animation. Try and write the script for Fury Road - it would be about 1000 pages of description. It was dumb perhaps in story but not in emotion and visuals. I get chills sometimes just thinking about it.
