I have seen all three of these dancers - Miss Zacharova at La Scala in Giselle partnered by the superb Mr David Hallberg. They were extremely well received by the Italian audience and it was a memorable evening. Miss Osipova at the ROH in Manon, again with Mr Hallberg. This may be a controversial opinion, but she is not someone I would choose to see and this MacMillan ballet did not suit her and I was there to see the American. There are other Royal Ballet principals that are far more comfortable with our understated English style than this Russian, who I think is better suited to soubrette roles, rather than say the Petipa classics. Miss Nūnéz again at the ROH in the Sleeping Beauty with Mr Muntagirov. I have seen many other productions, but this was superb and I’ve never see the Rose Adagio done better, even by the assoluta Miss Phyllis Spira in Cape Town.

Could you guys do a video of your routine/exercises for those of us who can't find a good studio??

When you talk about bourrees not being difficult, I remember that my first time en pointe in a performance was one that travels with bourrees across, around, through the middle, and middle again with bourrees as an entrance...(to make matters worse, it's while trying to keep in time with 3-4 other people who you are elbow-to-elbow to because we were garland angels and therefore had to hold a leaf garland taut between us). It's made every bourrees I've done after so much easier.

I LOVE your enthusiasm in this video! You two ladies DEFINITELY need to go to London in June 2025, to see this performance in person. On a note of grammar, it is not correct to say “there’s” (short for there IS) before plural nouns 🙁, but on the whole your presentations are excellent and your analysis spot-on 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.

For me I think I've mastered the stretchy ribbons and the no knot thing, because I also used to get my heel out of my pointe shoe, but for that I do an X with two elastics high on the feet, and put some rosin on so it doesn't slip Also my teachers are reaaally strict about the ribbons being undone on stage so that makes me feel really secure about it

Ahh what a fun game! I think this was the first of the ballet games y’all played that I felt like I could actually play along and I had a blast. I only got 8 points, but I don’t think that’s awful for a non dancer ballet nerd. Love this video

Also for the ballet with fairies one I was so sure Jordan and I might both think Midsummer Night’s Dream, but imagine my shock when literally everyone said Sleeping beauty 😅 My jaw hit the floor lols

1. Swan Lake for story, Nutcracker for music, Sleeping Beauty for looks 2. Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini (Sergei Rachmaninoff), Adagio from Fantasia (TwoSet Violin + Jordon He), Sugar Plum pas de deux (Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky) 3. Listening to/playing music (except I don’t dance) 4. (Again, I don’t dance, but) Giselle, Kitri, or Clara (Nutcracker) 5. Similarly to Jordan, I enjoy optometrist appointments 6. Yes. I’ve played violin for 9 years and piano for 7 months 7. People (who use the wrong your/you’re). 8. Introvert, but I don’t mind socializing 9. Doctor, lawyer engineer. 10. Please start ballet young (I know it’s never too late, but better to be early) (Blooper bonus: what if the editor is actually the chainsaw neighbour's secret identity?)

I would love to see a ballet where the protagonist journey is based on family not on love. Maybe she enjoys snacking late at night, dancing under the stars, and just snuggling with the chickens. (Or some pet). Then had to branch out of her comfort zone when something happens. (Her family moved, someone is kidnapped, etc). That’d be interesting
@inkheart151Күн бұрын
She wants to not die, she likes eating snacks at night, and she likes fun adventure stories? She could be the sugar plum fairy!

Tied with Eden at 9. I also joined Eden in picking firebird for a lady in red. For famous dancers, I went historical and chose Pavlova and Baryshnikov.

Scored 12! It's kinda funny how we all think of Bluebird as the ballet with a bird even though objectively Swan Lake might be the more obvious one

@Danny-pd9yb2 күн бұрын
Since when is there a bird in swan lake?
@felicity18772 күн бұрын
@@Danny-pd9yb just to refer to the obvious confusion - I at least when the maidens are in swan shape (sometimes a flock of real swans is seen because of scene technic), but they are no real swans such like Pavlova as the dying swan. Nope, the prince is not dating a bird (; at least also since the first version, the villian is supposed to be kind of owl or other kind of bird of prey shape...

As someone who has always been fascinated by dance and ballet, but has only recently started to take ballet lessons, I love that you encourage every single dancer out there, no matter their skill level or expertise. You always have kind and supportive words for people following their passion and for that I want to thank you. You are amazing ❤

i'm doing 3rd shade as my variation currently and while i personally like it, i do agree that the end is anticlimactic and just generally annoying lmao. it's like the music picks up, and temps leves happen and then you run to the corner and prepare... to (essentially) hit the griddy en pointe 😭😭
