The thing you didn't mention is the first thing that you need to know, the max charge rate of the battery. Only after you have that information can you get the right parts to do this with.

Great point. My battery is diy and over 600 amp hrs and made of many cells. It can handle well over 100 amps but this charger is adjustable you can set it anywhere from 1 to 100 amps. Personally I run it at 76 amps if I go more it stalls out my generator.

@@Self.reliant I already mentioned specifically the Victorn Quattro , and the Victorn Multiplus. They are easy to find at Victorns website (just google). Victorn also make many other devices like standalone AC to DC, DC to DC and PV to DC chargers. Victron devices, also have networking both wired and wireless, to enable modular, balanced charging with multiple devices. My point being, that as a brand, Victron is a good choice, because of the modularity and diverse devices for every imaginable grid, off grid or hybrod grid need. Their inverter/chargers can also operate in parallel, for single phase, split phase and three phase supply. So, if someone is going to start out small (I did with my off grid) and build it out as more capacity is needed, it is very straight forward and well engineered. Cheap chinese brands work, but with limitations and issues. Having lived off grid for six years myself, and knowing that power needs to be reliable, its always a good idea to recommend a brand that is good quality, good support and has swiss army knife integration.

Thanks for your videos. Glad to see you having a positive experience with it! I just ordered this unit today in the 5000w version, along with 5 of the 48V 50ah Lifepo4 batteries to go with it. Looking forward to scrapping my 48v 220ah lead acid bank. I was wondering if you are able to turn the inverter function off and still operate the charger? Looks to be only one physical on-off switch. Assuming that kills the unit entirely, or just the inverter out? I'd love to be able to turn the inverter off when not in use, and convert a lot of my cabin to low voltage DC for everything. One thing I never realized when I built my setup was how much waste there is from the big inverter running with minimal to no load.

Hi, I actually am working on a system for my camp with the exact specs you’re doing, it’s been trial and error. I have two of the ecoworthy solar trackers with 12x 200 Watt panels in total, I then have 6x of the EcoWorthy 48V 50Ah batteries and the 5000W WiFi Inverter from them as well. The inverter switch has to be on all the time in order to accept solar charge or any kind of charge. You can however, and should to be honest, put a circuit breaker in between the inverter and your cabin. This is how my system is setup. Let me know if you want to chat more about it! The only thing I’m struggling with right now is I live in Maine and just got this system working in November, so it’s been difficult with the cold and short days to get my batteries fully charged, and my cabin is completely off grid so I can only manually charge it with a generator when I am there. Hopefully I can see the system work at its fullest efficiency in the spring/summer!

I checked the original piston and they just mate up to each other with no overlap, the ring on top and bottom push the ridges on the oil ring in and keep it in place. Just in case anyone else is watching, hope to save you 30 minutes trying to gently fit the oil ring and overlap it by one.

Nice! I have a large powerwall built with 18650 using Batrium as the BMS. Agree 100% its for someone with time vs money (in my case I'm retired and did it as a hobby) but I'm in year 7 and the oldest packs just went over 2,000 cycles and working great. The key for long life in my experience is lower stress on the cells by doing a larger battery so you can operate in the middle range and avoid the extreme min (3.0v * 14 = 42v) and max (4.2v * 14 = 58.8v). I do 3.54v/pack * 14 = 49.5v min to 4.0v/pack * 14 = 56v max with an overall average 37% DoD. And if you can, do moderate ambient temps. And great to hear @AveRage_Joe help you - his work with 18650 helped me several years ago - he's one of those 'real info' channels.

I feel like these single chute designs are easier to feed but the vibration breaks the chute weld at the base because the chute sticks out so far. The ones with the top hopper have a separate branch feeder but it is linear and requires more prep to feed branches.

I have the same inverter (well almost....5000W instead of 3500 but the software on the unit is the same) with 6x265w panels and 4 LiFePo4 batteries (100Ah) in series (48v nominal). First off I want to say thanks for the video. Their support is absolutely terrible and haven't heard anything from them since I emailed over 2 weeks ago. I'm using it for full off-grid and relying strictly on the panels to charge the batteries. I'm having some issues which I can't seem to resolve and hoping you or a viewer can help out. I have it set for Solar priority and SOL as the only power source. The only loads running are Starlink and my WiFi router as well as a cell booster. Active load is anywhere from 50-60 watts and seems to average around 55. That's not including the load from the Eco-Worthy itself. What is currently happening is that it will charge the batteries to 100% and then will let the batteries provide some of the power output so that by the time the Sun goes down my batteries are at 40 SOC, which is worrisome if the following day is overcast and the batteries can't charge fully. Is there anyway to set this thing so that it uses the PV's during the day to cover the load as well as keep the batteries charged so that they can cover the load when there is no solar power generated? Also any idea what the load for the inverter is? I can't seem to find those numbers anywhere. It's not uncommon to see 275 watts being generated and seeing the batteries continue to power the load along with the PVs. Finally....any way to update the firmware on the unit. I have 3 days left on my return window to Amazon so if I can't get it sorted I may have to return it. Thanks.

@@Self.reliant the Chinese dont care about their own people, and they REALLY dont care about their junk once we buy it....Harbor Freight has improved its stuff a lot, but in general, you cant trust their manufacturing...especially where big money is involved....cant just throw away a $600 chipper......

Question: Does this unit do anything to cool regular water? Because it feels really cool just with tap water, I haven't frozen the ice packs yet. LOVING THIS! I bought it for the garage to play ping pong (super hot here) but am realizing it's so quiet, it will work great in my guest room. My house AC is STRONG in the master bedroom while my guest bedroom has only ONE vent...grrrr, what was my designer thinking? Everyone wants their guests comfortable!

I just plugged my new one in and I LOVE it! But I didn't even know where the "ice compartment" was from the manual, so your video helped me IMMENSELY, thank you so much! (don't you HATE when you ruin something when you guess about such things?)

Lol ya the only thing after using it for a long time is I wish the ice area was deeper so I could fit say 20 lbs of ice in it so it lasts longer. Those fell freezer packs don't do much after about 10 min
