Thank you so much for this informative interview and for your amazing work. I saw your installation during the last day of the MOM before it’s premature closure 😢 and it was the single most inspiring art exhibit I’d seen in years. I love your sense of color, your textures, your visual vocabulary that references objects and items from the past (the clunky phones, puff-sleeve sweaters, etc). Amazing work. Keep going and never doubt your vision. This is quality work. A few ceramics process questions: What type of clay do you use? Do you work with paper clay? What cone? (I’m new to ceramics and trying to see how big I can get without things cracking.) How are you able to achieve the bright color and satin finishes on some of your works? I haven’t found a satin clear glaze that’s actually clear (most seem very cloudy) and my underglazes have never had the vibrancy of yours. Finally, how do you fire your glazed works without sticking to shelves? I looked for stilt marks at your show and didn’t see any. Thanks again for putting your work out into the world. Sea of Vapors is just an incredible installation. I hope it eventually finds a permanent home where the public can continue to enjoy it.

I use text in my own artwork, I'm more interested in using the written word in an expressive painterly way, like Cy Twombly, Julian Schnabel and Basquiat use text. Thank you for this and the exercise, I found it interesting.
