When I got mine 2 years ago, I hated it because it's FWD & the lower quality interior (came from an Audi TT). But after growing up, I realized everything about this car is fantastic for the price & compared to other cars. I just recently started playing with throwing the back end around in corners. It's a very agile car despite it's weight. On top of that, a basic cobb OTS tune has me running off from a lot of cars I thought I'd lose from. It's a well built performance hatch
@jaredblair0112 күн бұрын
You can’t beat the price, I wish the RS was as reasonable because I love AWD cars but I can’t afford it. Get it dyno tuned or data logged and it will feel like a different car. OTS tunes are only so good because your car will perform different with altitude, humidity, and temperature
@datboycharles12 күн бұрын
@jaredblair01 ikr?? I've been looking at those & the Golf R. Even if there was a way to AWD swap the ST without trading my soul for the funds, I'd do it. I've noticed that with the OTS. I'm planning to go strat or JST in the near future. Cobb is giving me a LOT of negative corrections

Trying to help a fellow enthusiast. I welded my wastegate to the turbine housing. Ez access and good boost control. And weld a 90 degree cast elbow to your compressor. You can route your intercooler piping above your subframe. It was a little tight but i got about 1/2in clearance from the engine mount and subframe. Get everything chopped, cleaned and ready to weld and have a shop do it. Cost me about 100$ or so
@jaredblair019 ай бұрын
When you say turbine housing, you mean you welded the waste gate directly onto the turbo? Making it like a factory built in waste gate ? I found how to route the intercooler piping right at the end of the video! It is a tight fit for sure
@elijaah819 ай бұрын
@jaredblair01 yah sort of. I cut a 1-1/2in inch hole into the turbine housing and welded a schedule 10 tight radius elbow to it to mount my 44mm wastegate. Skid Factory has a video on putting wastegates directly to turbos. It saves a ton of headaches and gives ez access. At first i ran a wastegate relocation pipe off the manifold. Had good boost control but changing wastegate springs sucked balls and i chased some exhaust leaks too.
