@@ME44446 It is not sustainable to constantly clean a very tiny amount of trash while millions of tons of plastic replace what you just cleaned. This is just a way for brands like Mr Beast to make themselves look good. It is not about actually cleaning the ocean. If you wanted a clean ocean then you would want to stop the trash at the source because that is what actually matters. It is basically impossible to clean the oceans at a faster rate than trash gets thrown into them. Which means that team seas doesn't have much if any impact.

So how'd this get done so effectively, especially up until this ocean cleanups lifetime total clean up was about 22million pounds as of April 2024? 34 million pounds is a lot to have gotten done. Dont mean to be negative, this is incredible news. I'm just curious as to how the cleanup grew so exponentially. Like did the donations fund hundreds of more ocean cleanup trolleys? Hundreds + of river clean up crews?

People are criticising this for not being effective enough but I remember watching the video back in 2021 and not only did it make people aware of the problem but it also made people informed of what's causing the problem. The fact that they managed to prevent 8 hours worth of a global problem with only $30,000,000 shows that people can make a difference.

That is not making a difference mate. Realistically, he’s done absolutely nothing. This isn’t a problem that can be fixed by throwing money at it. Wow he told normal people to throw their money away for a helpless cause!! wow!! So brave!!! Do you find it odd that Mr Beast never mentioned that the real problem is corporations like Coca Cola that are the largest contributors to plastic pollution? Companies like these can make a difference, but instead of doing anything about that, he makes it all about himself like he’s “saving the ocean”
