Hot Take. IJN Yamato is not totally useless. Without Yamato. Space Battleship Yamato will never exist. Gundam will never exist and Star Wars will never be what they are now. Means without Battleship Yamato, Sci Fi wouldn’t be a popular Genre till this day. She might be useless for war. But she is the root of all Legacies. She is literally one Big Cannon event.

This music helps us to understand the character of the Japanese People. Yamato is the oldest & most sacred word for Japan. As long as Battleship Yamato was afloat hope against impending defeat & remained in the hearts of the Japanese People. Her loss was a blow to the moral of the Japanese People. It was better for Yamato to die fighting than to be used at an Atomic Bomb Test in the Bikini Atolls.

The word Yamato is the oldest and most sacred name the Japanese have for Japan. The Battleship Yamato was the pride of their nation. As long as Yamato survived real hope remained in the hearts of the Japanese People. With her destruction came the absolute realization that Japan was doomed. This music is a testament to that faith.
