In 1990 I was 13 and I accidentally got into reggae music 3 months after that John Holt become my favourite artist and still is to this day followed closely by beres Hammond... And what you say is true be glad of the people what are still around it will be a long time before we will see them again and we will see them again we live on forever..💯🇬🇧👍

Haven't heard this version of Hurt So Good in a LONG time! Too bad the channel with the vocal up front didn't come through (The vocal is only on one stereo channel - don't know why they did that back then). This is Magnet Records attempt to recreate the sound of Lee Perry's original record (and falling terribly short I think!) when legal troubles surrounding Perry's recording shut down its use at the time. Magnet declined any further dealings with Perry and the album he had recorded, and had Pete Waterman produce "Doing It Her Way". The title is really a misnomer because Susan had very little say in how it was done!

@@JamesBrown-ob9mh You're welcome. Re; the tracks, that's OK , have got all the others from that album. But that Magnet-recorded version of Hurt So Good just didn't cut it compared to the original - so I never converted it to mp3, hence not listening to it for years. BTW, the Magnet single release of Perry's version was remixed in the same way with the vocals only on one channel. It has other significant differences to Perry's original mix in the double tracking of Susan's voice. (Perry made Susan sing the song twice, then he put the two together - which is why there is crossover at times. He did that for almost all the tracks she recorded for him.) Pete Waterman tried to reproduce that by flanging her voice on all the DIHW tracks except Imagine. It didn't produce the same effect though. Anyway...thanks for your interest! And just so you know...I'm Susan's brother.
