London has been a big city for AT LEAST 2000 years. So let’s say humans have been around the Thames for give or take 2500 years… AT THE MINIMUM. Even with todays crime rates, (back in the day it was not uncommon for a city of a few hundred thousand to have a few thousand murders. Now cities with a few million have 15-20 murders a year) even with those crime rates, let’s make it an easy number and say 10 bodies get dumped or drowned in the Thames each year, for the past 2000 years (when realistically it’s probably like 5-10k bodies a year a year for the first 1500 years, and then probably slowed down to like 500-1000 bodies till the mid 1950’s, and now probably like 15-20 bodies a year) then there would be germs and diseases from about, rough estimate, 20000-60000 dead bodies floating around in your drinking water, AT THE MINIMUM.
