awesome, if only I had working but no longer in use tablets lying around!! either way I want to do something life size so it looks like the ghost is floating in the middle of the hallway and so people can walk through it! am I thinking too far into the future for technology to be yet available?
@Coinmancer2 ай бұрын
@@KrazeeKraftZ you can buy some fabric that is transparent and project onto the cloth so the ghost appears to be floating in the hallway. Otherwise you would need a pane of glass the size of the hallway, Disneyland haunted mansion uses a huge pane of glass from floor to ceiling so it’s possible, just becomes very involved. You could never walk through the ghost, the closest you may get is projecting a ghost onto smoke from a smoke machine. Then they could walk through the smoke, but the ghost would then be projected onto them as they walk through the smoke which may kill the illusion for others watching from behind

Hi. I hope you can help me. I was interested in making the peppers ghost illusion in a glass bowl (to make a crystal ball). Any ideas or tips on doing it in something round?
@Coinmancer3 ай бұрын
@@MyUnjust the reflection on a round object will be distorted. If you want to make a crystal ball you may want to just put a flat piece of plastic in the middle for the illusion to reflect on a flat surface. It will still be inside the ball and can’t be seen so will looked like the face is inside the crystal ball. Probably the more common way is using a projector. There is a fabric called hollusion which is essentially transparent but can will still show an image projected on it. Projecting an image onto the fabric inside the crystal ball or bowl. I see there are some tutorials on KZbin. Search for ‘peppers ghost crystal ball illusion’ and you will get some ideas. Also I highly recommend Joshua Ellingson’s channel as he works with every type of peppers ghost you can think up in his art displays. He has a video called “Pepper's Ghost Quick Demo” where he shows how it works with a dome as well
@YagwitOG4 ай бұрын
How would you do a life size pepper's ghost?
@Coinmancer4 ай бұрын
@@YagwitOG you would need a life size prop ghost and a large enough piece of glass. You could place a piece of glass outside a window of a house between two trees for example. Then whatever you have below the window leaning against the house will be reflected. So you would have for example a kitchen window, and a pane of glass is about 5 feet away reflecting a life size dummy that is below the window. You would look out the window and see the peppers ghosts and would only see the props if you stuck your head out the window and looked down.

Where's the raspberry pi come in? Did I miss that? I saw one demonstration of putting together a small mirror-like demo.
@Coinmancer5 ай бұрын
A raspberry pi being a mini computer is just used as a source to play the looping video. You can wire up a sensor to auto trigger but this was only mentioned for a potential future video.

When you run it try hitting the flipper to change to the next attract mode. I have seen it take time before, but if you him the flipper it may force it to retry again. In any case if it don’t work on the first try there is an issue m, it always runs for me currently. I wonder if it’s related to the speed of the usb drive
@pudgex768 ай бұрын
@@Coinmancer I have used 3 different usb sticks. The last one was brand new 3.0. The playfield still doesn’t work. When I hit the flipper it changes from steampunk to melty only on dmd and back glass. I can’t get any attract modes from the App Store either.

This will happen if you try to run them from the system local memory, you need to run them direct from the USB by creating a folder called attract_mode and putting the files inside.
