close but no cigar. not quite there yet. dark ambient Skrillex is what you need. focus on your subsonics. keep going.

Somehow found myself on this video, and damn glad I did. Somehow this genre of music always makes me appreciate the creators, the passion, and the drive that people exude through their craft. Keep doing you, tonight you have blessed my eardrums with some extremely pleasant tunes.

its good but too many tracks during drop rezz is usually drums and bass but u can have multiple bass like 1 sub bass and another to give slight highend detail to bass

One more question? For the sequence you got. How did you come up with the sequence? Is it just using a scale? Improvised on the spot. I cant figure out how to make musical sequences to play with and manipulate. And then to change it while music is still going.
@mastersunfish11 ай бұрын
I think the original sequence was a preset sequence from the minifreak I believe. I recorded those midi notes into ableton. And duplicated the clip a few times. On like the 4th pattern I changed the sequence by manipulating the midi notes. I remember using the ‘reverse’ ‘invert’ etc. midi features. And dragging notes around until it sounded somewhat musical. I hope it helps a little bit
@k.p.430111 ай бұрын
So you got the mini freak with the preset sequence going? And then Ableton is playing drums? Do you have different sequences in the daw or just rhe mini freak playing sequences? How did the sequence change? And then youre manipulating the sounds with the knobs? Sorry for all the questions? Im trying to figure out how to do this myself. Thanks for any reply. Sounds awesome man.
@mastersunfish11 ай бұрын
Yes. This is playing in Clip View in ableton live. I have different scenes that I am launching. Drums are coming from drum racks that came stock with ableton, they have some good ones. I created an ‘external instrument’ and made the output to the minifreak. And the audio from my interface channel that minifreak is plugged in to. I have different clips with different sequences being launched.

One tip I can give. I am basically just recording patterns on top of each other, staying in key. I’ll record 4-5 patterns that sound good on top of each other, then I will arrange them. Starting with one or two of the patterns playing, and slowly adding more and removing others. Towards the end of the pattern I like to add some sort of automation (cutoff, etc.) to build energy. Another tip is to keep it simple, some good drums, and a simple melody can go a long way. Then just add some slight changes, other elements that sound good on top, etc. thank you for your comment,
@mastersunfish11 ай бұрын
Just one more tip is to snag a good pair of headphones for Mixing, I use beyerdynamic open back headphones. I don’t have studio monitors, too expensive for now. With headphones you don’t need a sound treated room to mix good. I have tried mixing the levels on some Yamaha home studio speakers and the mix kept coming out bad on different devices. Since switching to beyerdynamic open back headphones. I will adjust all the levels to get a decent mix, and it will 90% sound good on other devices like iPhone, soundbar, etc, but definitely still check on other systems because sometimes it requires adjustment. And for mixing I usually just have a limiter on the master channel at 0db, I make the kick drum louder until it hits 0db, then bring my melody up until it sounds good with the kick and add some side chain. Then mix the other drums till it sounds OK. Hope this helps, I have been creating music for over 10 years, which isn’t a lot, but one thing I learned is the importance of simplicity and mixing.
