The modes describe how the motor responds to the torque sensor. In none it doesn't assist. On eco it assists lightly. On climb it assists a LOT. Of course in all modes it won't assist above 15.5mph due to the English law requirements. Funnily enough this is what he explains in the video.

the Carrera Vulcan E is 24kg it's the worst huffer bike i could imagine being stranded with anywhere my 18 year old mtb is 13kg. I cant imagine buying a ebike the weight is just to heavy for the power output. you are actually cycling a big heap of 24kg of metal that you will have to replace in 2 years and spend hundreds of punds on a new battery that is stupid buy a motorbike
@All-rc8044 жыл бұрын
Ive had mine 2 years now and your right lol. These are the worst bikes ever. Only good bit is the frame
@appynoon4 жыл бұрын
you are worrying about weight too much. The average rider has (say) 76 kg body weight so the electric "vehicle" is 24+76 = 100 kg versus the unassisted "vehicle" 13+76 = 89 kg. So not that much difference in weight 100kg vs 89kg.
@bobi25825 жыл бұрын
Ive had mine for over a year and I dont think there is a fix for the cut outs. I think the problem is the connection between the battety and the connectors. The spring terminals dont make a good contact and after time loosen ans start to arch which causes loss of conntact. If you clean then with electrical contact cleaner ans squeeze them together with a small screwdriver it prevents the cut outs for a while. Also i cable tie the head unit on to stop it moving on the holder which is also known to cause cut outs.

Hello from Dublin, Good video your camera angle was a bit shallow a lot of the time...have you tried adjusting the belt to sit higher on your chest? Anyhow...I have a Vulcan E almost 2year's. The bike was going very well apart from the odd conk out with no error code's...it had a fairly big mechanical failure at the crank where the tork sensor should be fixed it is now rotating. This is just a head's up in case your bike develop's the same fault.

Thanks for sharing. Was good to observe your whole journey. I could see you were reaching some respectable speeds without having to go too crazy. I have decided to buy an ebike. They can be very expensive, but the Carrera seems to be good value, though the money saved seems to make most price tags viable in the long run. I like cycling to work on my manual bike but some days, I just would rather I didn't have to do the tough grind, and arrive dripping with sweat. Even when I cycle to my table tennis club, I enjoy the workout getting there, but would rather spend a little less of my energy getting there and more giving it my best within the game:-) My only reservation with this model would of course be the power cutting out. Thanks again for sharing.

Mostly happens after i leave it for 5 min on and then take off again. And i do deliveroo with it so stops and starts many times a day. And it happens so random, sometimes its fine for weeks and then comes back again. I also cling film the battery in heavy rain as i notice some water gets in the controller part

EAT DREAMS This is widely known problem! With many crossfire and Vulcan batches. Take it back and demand a refund! or swap for a different model. Don't take any shit and don't let them play dumb they know about this! People have successfully got refunds or swaps over this.

Have you spoke to halfords before about it? I can't believe you wouldn't do so! That's a big problem to live with and say fuck it. Doesn't matter, Try anyway! Time and mileage shouldn't make a difference. They will probably try to repair it on warranty, But with all previous attempts with many people who have the same problem it never works! So you tell them that! Just demand a refund! When I say swap, The process is usually a refund anyway and then purchase a different model.
