My first meal in Singapore was at Lucky Chicken Rice at Tang Plaza. After I received my food I could not find a napkin. When I asked for a napkin they brought me a packet like the one you show in your video and they charged me for it! The chicken rice meal was delicious and I would highly recommend the place if you are on Orchard Road. I definitely agree with your tip to bring an umbrella. I took a small compact one and I was glad I did as I got caught in the rain on three out of five days.

I think one of the most important tips that people would appreciate knowing, is that vaping is illegal completely. And also chewing gums being illegal. And potentially other things that people could actually get in trouble by simply not knowing. The rest are very helpful but people could figure those out easily without getting in too much trouble 😅 Good tips though. I visited Singapore few months ago and I loved it. The food is deliiiiiiiiiiiiicious

Is there any pass for unskilled jobs?
@Neeezy-b2n23 күн бұрын
I have been trying for an unskilled job in Singapore because I was told that its not easy to get an office job there. I'm a Purchasing and Supplies Management graduate. I have applied to almost 100 hotels and restaurants for waitress, receptionist and room attentant positions but i have got not even one reply. Sometimes i think its coz I'm a black lady. Its so disappointing

Without even watching your ‘Worst’ Part. I guess one of them is the HEAT and the other is owning a car (Car is more of a luxury in S’pore, Not a necessity), and the BEST part would be the accessibility/transportation and FOOD! I guess, lets see if I am right

Glad I found this channel. So happy that 'hapa' is still hip! And it's a more inclusive term than Wasian.

Your lifestyle is on the expensive side by SG standard. I guess you still have not assimilate yourself into the local environment. Unlike b4, expats today are getting local terms so cost of living is high. Rental in SG is comparable or higher than NYC.

US has a car culture because cars are very cheap by Singapore standards. Getting a Grab might cost 10 times more than public transport, but still does not reflect on the true cost of owning a car in Singapore because of our unique COE system. This stands for Certificate of Entitlement for owning a car for the period of 10 years. After 10 years, you either renew your COE for another 10 k for the same car! or buy a new car! with a 10 Year COE! or just take take the public transport. So Public transport like Grab or PHV is very cheap when compared to car ownership. Public transport system is cheap and reliable where Buses are concerned. But the Gov has been adjusting bus routes to ensure the MRT is fully utilized. Just imagine what would happen if the MRT breaks down. We would all wish we had a car in the end because at times like these, Grab and Gojek would jack up their prices by a thousand times. You also mentioned that lots of your costs are company associated. Would really help if you could give an actual ball park figure needed for an expat to live comfortably after paying off for the basics like property, transportation, food, and medical costs. What would really help is giving a total amount an expat should be earning before ever considering Singapore for its plus points like public safety.

Singapore is indeed a safe place to live in if you can afford it. Cost of living is extremely high. Would help those who intend to move here if you could give an idea of what they need to be earning in order to enjoy the level of comfort and satisfaction you are describing in your videos.

Spend $3700 / mo as minimalist that does not go out much. Mind if I ask how much do you make from your day job (not including YT income)? Or the range that an average person (not to minimalist that goes out once a week) needs to be making to live in Singapore? Edit: One commenter mentioned "Median salary in SG is about $4k/month." True?
