Random question but is there some sort of protection in the chainstay around the idler pulley? Especially above and next to where the chain goes through? Is it all exposed alloy or carbon fiber? My concern is that the chain could bounce around during rough terrain and wear down that area.

Yep there is and the whole system stays pretty calm overall in the rough

Chris, this is well done man. Happy new year to you and fam also. You are THE O.G, pro content creator for MBT in the region. I remember seeing your channel a few years ago and thinking, oh cool, finally we've got a guy doing the "BCPOV" thing, but for our region ;).... it's all about building that community, and you're at the core IMO. And I agree, over the past 5-10 years, the region just keeps bringing it... between the Outaouais, the Laurentiens, Les Cantons de L'Est and Quebec city area. We now have some of the best MTB in the world. Here's to 2025 🍻

what is feeling of Norco Sight C1 MX
@CapitalMTBАй бұрын
It feels like it needs to be pushed to the limit to unlock its full potential. It’s extremely capable and very at home in janky terrain. The 2025 model has a long travel version which has 170mm up from 160mm which I think would be pretty cool. I’ve personally settled on the new optic MX with the rockshox vivid our back and I over forked it to 150mm. I feel like this is almost as capable as the sight but slightly lighter and more manoeuvrable.
@bullit4xАй бұрын
If you owned the bike you can really get it stealthy. I own one and put a little time on it going through it to get rid of the rattles. It’s ghost silent now. All I hear is the tires and the suspension. It’s a great bike. Mine is dual purpose. Race dh on it and it’s my park bike. I just run single speed for park and it’s freaking ninja quiet. Also. Got a new subscriber. Great content man. Thanks.

Hey Chris! Great vid, amazing colors, did the same at Rigaud last week (not quite as rad;) Just wondering what you're running for cams these days as your footage is really nice and crispy. I've been testing the 360-X4 lately with unexpectedly great results but normally run a Gopro 9 & 11, but I've noticed lately that my exported footage (in Resolve "KZbin" mode) basically looks like mushy crap. Nice small file sizes which is the only benefit. Then others with the same settings look great. Anyway looks like you're running a lens mod...let me know if you have any rendering advice! Cheers
@CapitalMTB3 ай бұрын
I should really make a video on my GoPro settings… so I am using a GoPro hero 13 black. I shoot at 30p in 5.6k Hyperview with hyper smooth stabilization enabled (no mods). I shoot in natural colour and set my white lance to 5000k. I also shoot in 10bit colour high quality to get the most robust images possible. For post production I’ll make all my tweaks in resolve but I do a custom export and I set the parameters to “force sizing to highest quality”. I find YT compresses the crap outta things so the higher resolution you shoot and the higher quality you export the better it looks. Yes my files are huge ;)

Does the slab give you the right speed for the trail gap drop in king kong or do you need to brake yourself before? Ty

If you creep into the slab you should be fine. Maybe a tiny little break tap for good luck as the drop kinda slopes down.

What is the most noticeable difference from the Norco Sight you were riding? Sweet video man.
@CapitalMTB4 ай бұрын
Good question, there are definitely a ton of differences. First off the wheels are 27.5 front and back where as the sight is a mullet. The wheelbase on both bikes is the same but the range is a bit easier to corner. The sight has a long reach and feels longer in general. The range is definitely more capable with the dual crown fork and longer travel numbers. All that said the shore is a park/DH bike made for going down hill. The sight is an all mountain bike that can get you up and down the hill multiple times.
