Thank you Jesus for the knowledge you give doctors! My daughter had this done back in March it's amazing that they can do this instead of surgery every 6 months! She's going back tomorrow for her 3 adjustment and it's improved so much!

I had this surgery last year and had about 75-80% of my vertebrae fused together and had the rods hold them in place. The recovery was rough, but after excercising on my own, Im almost 100% back to normal. True it does put more stress on the unfused parts of you spine which may cause aches and whatnot and you may have less flexibility in your back (i.e. Cant do sit ups that easily, bending might be a problem) but it was probably for the best. There were slight bumps along the way but I was walking around and got off painkillers by the first week after surgery👍🏻 Everyone recovers at a different pace so if anyone is here because you or someone you know is getting this surgery, dont push too hard. Im open to questions anytime by the way

Hi Chris, hope you have recovered well from your surgery. My 9 yr old son is undergoing this surgery shortly, just wanted to learn from your experiences: 1. Any tips when going to the toilet after surgery? Special diets etc 2. Major do's and don'ts during and post surgery? Eg pillows required or avoiding certain body positions? 3. Are you able to walk a fair distance after all these years? Thanks for sharing and take care!

@@TheMadichetti Hi Kiran, Im doing well! Im sorry to hear your son is undergoing it but Im sure he'll do great! As for tips, going to the toilet once they let you take him home might be a bit of a struggle depending on how far the bathroom is, but having a walker or rail of some sort by the toilet should help with sitting down and getting up. As for special diets, I found it easier to eat soups and liquids and limit solids. Everyone is different, but thats what did it for me. Something I would recommend and push for is to help him shower for the first month or two until he can stand and turn on his own better. I wasnt able to shower on my own for the first month and ended up with ripped stitches and an infected wound, causing me to go back for a second surgery. So for sure clean sheets, clothes, and shower regularly! Lastly, Im perfectly fine now and can walk, run, lift, etc. for extended periods of time. I recently found that working out helps with the recovery of feeling in my back as the original surgery ripped my nerves and caused me to not be able to feel my back anymore. Its also helped my scar begin to fade a bit. I probably wouldnt recommend weighted stuff, but calisthenics are for sure a good way to get him to recover faster and feel better overall once he can after the first few months! One thing I forgot to mention, try not to lay him on his side and DEFINITELY DO NOT let him lay on his stomach! I still cant really lay on my stomach. The only downside Ive experienced is lack of flexibility (its almost the same as before but I cant do certain things like dance as well) and my back pain is concentrated in one spot instead of distributed throughout my back. I hope this helps!! Good luck :)

Dr Rafael Bundoc is one of the best spine surgeons. Experts in the field look him up as well and entrust new methods/technology in his hands. No one would like those "metals" in their bodies unless it will save their lives or alleviate the pain one feels. I know. May God bless his hands always!
