Good video. Related to the game though, advanced weapons are flawed, because the voice says out loud your choice of target and knowing that you can not have a ship there, it also tells your opponent that you don't have ships there...
@GameRulesComКүн бұрын
Thank you! It is possible for you to have a ship in the same location as an enemy ship. The advanced weapons don't give anything away in regard to your ship positions.
@frankm5234Күн бұрын
How so? When you place advanced weapons you are placing them on your board where your ships are, therefore if the voice calls out where your advanced weapons are aiming for that by default means that there are no ships at that location of the one firing. If there was he could not have placed the piece as a ship would be there. If I'm wrong please explain

Hello, is the safety zone an area where only forward progress is possible? No, go back four spaces-can be played there?
@GameRulesComКүн бұрын
Correct. Once a pawn is in the safety zone, it cannot be moved backwards, only forwards.

Another question unanswered within the rule book, does the draw pile deck get reshuffled once exhausted if the game hasn’t completed yet?
@GameRulesCom10 күн бұрын
Yes, shuffle the discard pile and continue play. ☺️

Thank you for this mini-tutorial! The directions did not explain what happens immediately with a pig when you goat one opponent that shifts the highest count to another opponent besides yourself! We considered not moving the pig until the opponents turn with the highest count but this makes more sense. Great video thanks again! Our family of 5 - with 3 kids 7-10yrs old- are obsessed with this game!

There's this unnamed variant I learned a while back which I can't seem to find elsewhere online.. Here are some differences: - 5's destroy half of the pile (Two 5's destroy the entire pile) - There are 4 face-down cards on the table instead of 3. - You are dealt 9 cards at the start and must CHOOSE which 4 cards to put on the 4 face-down cards before play starts. - You must not have a hand size lower than 5 instead of 3 (of course, until the drawing pool runs out). - Players CANNOT play out of turn to complete a four-of-a-kind. - Once you're on your 3rd deck (Cards face-down on the table) you can pick them up and look at them and not have to choose randomly. - 8's can beat any card and are "see-through", taking the value of the card last played before them. (E.g. if you place a king and the next player places an 8, the person after that still has to play a card that is equal toor higher than the king.) - 7's don't do anything. If I think of any other differences I'll be sure to add them! Also if you have any name ideas for this variant please tell me lol-

In your example, after the first hand, why did the dealer discard the 10 rather than the joker? They were left with a much higher score than they could have received.

We call it 10 thousand. You roll 5 dice and 5 3’s = 3 k points and all the dice. 1’s and 5’s keep the hand moving but if you happen to throw 3 1’s that’s 1,000 points and if you’re lucky lucky 5 1’s = 10k points games over everyone gets an extra roll to go out. Cause I could score 10k points and stop but if you score 10,250 points then you win after the last roll has went around. It’s much easier to show someone with a set up dice than typing it out

great game. The variation that I played has exactly the same power cards as yours. HOwever, the only difference is that to add challenge to the game, the player cannot finish the game on an ace (other power cards can be finished on though).

This is not the up and down the river or oh hell card game our family played for years ...I played it so much growing up. It's nothing like it and it's a betting game not a drinking game. It was called up and down the river because you played several hands ( rounds or games) starting with 1 card dealt to each player and progressed each hand by adding 1 additional card . Up to 13 cards dealt to each player when you played the 13th hand.. Then back down each hand with 1 less card to the last hand where every player gets only 1 card to play. 1 card is turned over after dealing to each player to establish trump. Each player bets on how many tricks they will win. A trick is when the lead player , person to the left of the dealer, plays a card establishing that suit of that card to beat and the player who lays down the highest value card of that suit or trump wins. The person who wins that trick now leads with the next card. You do not have to follow suit. Once all cards have been played a tally is taken to see if you won the number of tricks you bet to win. If you bet zero and did not win any tricks. You get 3 points. If you bet zero and won a trick, you get zero points. If you won the number of trick you bet to win. You get 3 points plus the number of tricks you won After playing 25 hands (1-13 then back 12 -1) the person with the highest score wins.
