OSM is garbage and I don't understand why they bother keeping planet.osm online. No one can use a 144gb file of .osm data because real programs like ArcPro or even QGIS can't open it - JOSM crashes when it tries. It's just a useless piece of foundational data no one can access.

I guess you're not following the right step. You should be the one to specify your study area then you download and import it to any GIS related software. To establish control on a new site you must have set out a place where you want to establish the control using cement and iron you need to monument the place where there will be no disturbance or movement of trucks to avoid shift of the control. You need to set your rover GPS on that point and set your Base GPS on a know point it might not be on that site but must not be too far away then after doing your control establishment you note the coordinates of that new point

It's a circle reading, either the value subtract from 180 or vice versa if you do your calculations right you will get your results. Hope you know when you get a negative answer, you have to add 360 to it. With that you'll get the actual value.

Depending on the situation map you need. you can use civil3d geolocation to get both satellite, and hybrid view of a particular place. you will get that on our civil3d video. You can as well use google earth or consult online repository for the map download. You can decide any best options suitable for you
