I love the fact that you share this , but we need to look wider. people are not interested in after school education even tho you have some, when they're hungry when theres no jobs, gas, no water ,no money for rent. That's not gonna help anything. with all due respect, that's how they wind up in gangs in the first place.

Good point. Your economic counter is valid. However, gang recruiting often starts in the 5th grade. So, the after-school programs are still applicable to elementary and middle school students. It will also enhance their educational attainment and relieve some financial pressure on working parents, particularly working single mothers who may now not have to worry about after-school child care. Additionally, research shows that students in these after-school programs have higher high school graduation rates, as well as career tech and college acceptance rates.

But ma'am, after school education is not the problem. They already have that investment , It's investment in the community's job. Economic development, there's the problem.

That was Aaron Spelling's main reason for creating "Love Boat" back in the 1970s/80s! It was to give what Hollywood considered "Washed-up" non A-lister television actors work and this was like almost 50yrs ago so yeah I totally get what you're saying, Every little bit helps especially when you're trying to [maintain] a particular lifestyle you've become accustomed to as a showbiz celeb, It's even tougher by today's standards

This is why it's so wild to me when I hear ppl give these surface level reasons for not voting in this election. So many are not grasping the true ramifications of what that would mean in the long run. This is just a preview of what's to come.

You’re on point! The 1980 Supreme Court’s 5-4 6:29 decision was not unanimous, however. So this court could default to the dissenting opinions of the 1980 case. The principles of the Ten Commandments are sacrosanct within the Christian community & also applicable to some of our laws. However, the religious connotations are obvious & not applicable to other religions. For example, Thou shalt not commit adultery. Aside from a 3rd grader trying to process that commandment, there are other religions which allow polygamy = up to four wives.

Very true! Our Supreme Court today could very well rule in favor of Louisiana.

So, hi...just FYI, perhaps, to shed some light on 1 of the areas you believe Jaguar lied about. I auditioned for American idol back in the day (early 00s--the yr they came to Detroit & acted like there were no good singers in my city--& kept using bad Motown references 🙄)... Anywho, there were 2 auditions (prior to any type of filming) that would let you get onto the actual show, so there were thousands of ppl who weren't seen on TV because there were no camera crews that day. Maybe a couple outside to show you the crowd & how long the line was but none inside. So, anyway, we could only pick 1 of like 4 (maybe 6) songs to sing. It was all done in a couple of big conference rooms downtown, with dozens of pre-judges (which were the real judges because they were the gatekeepers to who got allowed on the show--& yes the bad singers are let thru intentionally--AND some of the bad 1s are actually delusional & believe they can sing). It took all day. It was crazy. So, eventually they broke us down into groups of like 10-15 ppl, & we had to step out 1 at a time, sing 1 of those 4 (or six) stupid songs (Many of the Blk ppl picked American boy by Estelle). Then they would let you know a few mins later if you made the next cut (which was still prior to filming). I was told I had a "nice voice... just not what we're looking for." I had a big natural Afro & may have looked a little too "all power to the ppl" for the show. Anywho, said all that to say, Lauren London could've easily auditioned for the show with a beautiful voice & not get picked. I watched them pass up on some beautiful voices, but we didn't have the image.

Sheila E is Royalty! I've seen her live with Prince - she is a world class drummer and musician, she always looked fantastic and wasn't outshined by Prince on a stage - Paisley Park should roll out the red ( or purple ) carpet whenever she drops in. Whatever happened to "there aren't any rules at Paisley Park" ?
