I loved my '95 SC300. Switched it for a '98 in 2019. Some engineering improvements in the '98 - also some cost-cutting such as lesser grade carpeting. It's AT, but now 5-spd. AT compared to earlier 4-spd. A tad more torque & quicker off the line. Only 54,500 on the clock & drives like new. A wonderful car in Many respects, not the least of which is the natural smoothness of an inline-6 (vs. a V-6). Just got a new set of Yokohamas - excellent ride! 'Love this car!!

That was Toyota mistake, transferring the Celica to Fwd instead of Awd for the world rally. That's why the sales of the Celica dropped.

Proud owner of my 98 Sc300 and I love it. When I got mine, it sat in a garage for over 5 years. It was literally a barn find and it did need some work. After a full restoration of the car, paint, suspension, full tune up and exterior mods. The car was perfect again. It’s my forever car and I love the attention it gets when other enthusiasts see the car and know exactly what the car is!

1997 5spd owner here. Love it to death. Great visibility with the long doors. It feels like such a big car until i park next to anything new. Not very practical but it makes up for it in smiles. I'll admit I've been eyeing 90s JDM crown wagons I honestly have no idea how its not more popular but im not gonna complain. I met an older lady with one and wel talked for a while. She got it new and all her friends didn't understand why she still had it. Good condition Automatic sc300/400 still seem so cheap for something so comfy and reliable.

I have both. 92 Lexus SC300, and 92 Lexus SC400. I will tell you all that it’s not an inexpensive car to maintain. I got the 92’s because of the non interference engines. Love them both. But without a turbo, the SC400 is more fun to drive.

@@theday2learn thank you, the SC300 is my project car. I’ve replaced the engine and racing suspension. I’m looking into the turbo interchange. But both are very nice comfortable cars. Decent stock stereos, that are difficult to wire in a aftermarket stereos and still keep the functions. For a 92 vehicle, they’re very nice cars. I inherited the SC400 from my father. So I keep that one how he wanted it. I also inherited his 83 el Camino with 523 hp, and his ford f250. We have 8 cars. It’s a lot of maintenance and upkeep, but they’re all worth it. I see my SC like a Japanese corvette! LoL. Good luck, I hope you can find one that’s still in good condition.

Great car, how do you feel about the GR86 now compared to the celicas of the past
@captainjosue Жыл бұрын
@@theday2learn I'm sure the GR86 is fun but it lacks the depth, reputation and history of the Celica. The Celica was built on decades of competition in rally, decades of sales and innovation. As far as I'm concerned, the GR86 owes it's existence because of the Celica. Will the GR86 have a future once the new Celica will be released? I feel like the new Celica that is coming out will make the GR86 redundant.
