I also did a soft DNF around the same spot in Binding 13. It just seems so daunting and started a bit slow. 😂 I will eventually go back to it as well.

I’m sure I’ve called Bride a fantasy too. But usually I consider books set in worlds that aren’t ours to be fantasy and things like Bride I call paranormal. But that’s just me. I’m sure others have their own ways of defining it.

@@sarahnancyI’ve heard of them but never felt any interest towards them. I have heard people that do read it say that Bride isn’t exactly that. Something to do with an omega I think to be an omegaverse? 😂 I’ve heard some describe it as adult Twilight too. I’m just going to have to read for myself and see how I like it.

Rather than a book published on your birth year, why don't you pick a year that is half of your age? Like, when one celebrates a half-year birthday (the date in six months before your birthday), you can divide your age into two and choose a book published in that year. Makes it more interesting and helps you read books. Example: If one is born in 2000 and now it's 2024, you can read a book published in 2012. And if you don't own the book, why not use the library to find a book for the birth year prompt? Just wondering.

I found and read The Mistake in January 2016, didn’t realize it was book 2 until I was done. It was my first in what is now a very very long list of hockey romances but even barring that, I love it. Have always loved it. I’m rarely on the train early but I read those first 3 books and The Goal wasn’t even out yet. Unfortunately I was one that was underwhelmed by Powerless but holding out hope from Reckless. And Midnight Sun doesn’t read as YA as the other Twilight books, to me at least. It took me starting over months and months after reading a fourth of the book to finally get accustomed and into it but was very glad I read it. But I was obsessed with the books and midnight releases for the movies, still am. 😂Great TBR and I love your positive energy and sunny disposition.
