Love that you continued your Dad's work. Just a question, because you have inspired me to try a backflow incense burner, have you ever had issues baking over cardboard?
@pixiewolfdesigns25 күн бұрын
Yes, I have in the past, I always poke a hole somewhere inconspicuous so that the heat can escape, so I don't get any cracking. If you are going to do an insence burner, make sure you have a good barrier from the card as it will get really hot and could cause a fire. I always use milliputt or epoxy sculpt and lots of clay to keep it away from any wood/card. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching it means a lot to me 💜

Originally, I was going to say that it was the octavo, but then I changed my mind because I hadn't created what he was running away from. I felt if I had added all the tenticals everywhere, it would have been more descriptive, but i hadn't, so I made it just a book in the end.

@pixiewolfdesigns 🤣 yeah I know what you mean, Sarah. I spend far too much on art supplies myself. I always set out to make a single sculpture, and halfway through, I think this would look good as a Diorama, so i order more stuff from Amazon, lol! I just can't help it. Great stuff, Sarah 👍
@pixiewolfdesignsАй бұрын
@theclayshack that's exactly how it happens too me 🤣 I think I spent about £200 on this one diorama maybe a little more so I'm going to be a good girl now and only use the supplies I have. I think I will do a discworld sculpture next it's been brewing in my head 💜
@Yvash2 ай бұрын
Damn, you went *hard*! The technical leap from the Myrmourn Banshees to The Black Coach was crazy enough, but then to make an entire diorama for them to inhabit? Magnificent! I think you did a great job painting the minis themselves, I was super impressed that you did the OSL details on the lamps; really helps sell the atmosphere. Love your colour choices overall, they're a really striking band of ghosts, especially The Grimhailer, those purple-magenta wings are a big standout (and gosh, I love that model so much, I have one myself!). Don't be too hard on yourself over the portal either, it's a great idea and you executed it well imo. Also a lot sturdier than the actual Lady Olynder model, which is one of the most flimsy-fragile things I've ever tried to build!
@pixiewolfdesigns2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words I spent a long time on this. I wanted it to display the minis in the best light possible, they are so beautiful and expensive 🤣 I thought they deserved something cool to be displayed on. I have soooooo much to learn but I really am enjoying the journey 💜

Question for you. Does the incense burn the hardened clay?
@pixiewolfdesigns2 ай бұрын
Not if you use milliput or epoxy sculpt. This is one of my earlier ones so I was still experimenting with different ways to do it. But I would advise that you don't have the heat too close to polymer clay make sure it is near a more hardy clay if you are going to do it 💜
