do these still work in 2024 Q4? I'm just picking up the game now...
@klaige16 күн бұрын
@@treehann these are all the way back from season 1. You'll want to look for updated season 4 routes.

You pretty much said about Robo-Ky what I originally thought. I just don't think Anji has advantage, given all the negatives... Main issue being no possible way of being safe on wake up as its a guessing game. Robo just needs way less effort to end the round. I'd call it even at best, unless you're ready to play super passive and just know the matchup perfectly.
@klaige21 күн бұрын
@morganladimore3723 it's the type of matchup i refer to as "even but feels worse" Anji has all the tools to play the matchup, but he has to alter his plan a lot from the standard approach and that can make it feel much more clunky overall. Just one of those matchups that has a lot more rps than raw advantage when playing offense for Anji.

@normalabsolutely7240Ай бұрын
Why isn't baiken top 1, tho? She has basically everything and more. What can testament and zappa do that baiken can't do better. If they have better offense, then sure, however, baiken has crazy pressure offense and damage, all with the ability to give everyone in the cast the middle finger for daring to take their turn.
@klaigeАй бұрын
@normalabsolutely7240 i mean I explain this in the video but simply put, Baikens guard counters are not infallible. Every character has ways to work around guard counter. Not every character has a good way to deal with oki from testament, or zappa getting out a summon that shuts down their gameplan. Testament can create near checkmate situation off a single touch, zappa can completely dominate neutral and lock opponents down with any of his summons. Baiken is the best defensive character in the game, but defense is only one facet of guilty gear. Try rewatching the explanations on each character, because none of my opinions have changed on these placements even years later.

The audio quality of the clips don't seem very good, but your performance as commentor is really good! Great work Klaige ;D
@klaige2 ай бұрын
@TheSweetSpirit one of the hazards of making a reel. You're kind of at the mercy of the broadcast mixing. There's also the fact that some clips are pre-pandemic and others post-pandemic so wearing a mask somewhat alters the sound.

Very interested in learning him. I have a question, though. This game is often praised for allowing for a lot of player expression and creativity. How much of that does Anji as a character allow?

I gotta say this is my favorite video from the fgc. Ive played strive since launch, and it was my first deep dive into fighting games. I always avoided them cuz i knew how competitive i was, but i really liked this one. I decided to try steaming it just cuz it seemed fun. About a uear later i started plateau ing and it started eating away at my mental t9 the point i almost gave up streaming entirely. After another year i realized i have been severely burned out and decided to pull back from fighting games cuz it was miserable just booting the game. Now ive been only streaming fighting games on fridays and saturdays which kind of helped. But this video really encapsulates where im at with them right now. I love fighting games but ive never been able to shake the extreme pressures i put on myself and its just ruined the fun for me. I really appreciate this video as no one for me really understood what i was going through and just really ate away at me cuz i couldnt talk about it. Even now i feel wierd typing it 😅. But thank you for this and i will be taking a break and trying to come back with a healthier mindset!

1:29:44 I feel like this is the first time I've ever actually heard someone else say this. Coming from Tekken the opposite is what most people believe to an almost dogmatic level. It's cathartic to hear someone else share this opinion

1:25:46 I think the burst part of this is a bit wrong. If Dizzy is still on the burst radius, she will get hit over any summon. If she isn't in the radius tho, the burst will just destroy the fish (the fish tanking the dead angle part is correct tho) Really informative list tho, always love the plus r comtent, and I really like the angle you took of "characters strenghts relatively to the other's" rather than a tournament view specifically or so. That speaks to me a lot more, as someone who enjoys watching the game competitively, but mostly plays it causally with pals

@Anomaly1884 ай бұрын
I don't get this guy's logic. I know nobody high level uses install because it's shit but he's not even hit confirming into DI to give himself safety to start his pressure so he's just wasting his meter and the install on meaningless pressure with no payoff. The few times he does score a hit he can't combo because the install ends and Sol has to recover so you get free eats.

this all resonates a few years ago, maybe 4 years ago, I was putting in the work to get better in SF5. I queued for an online game and got double-perfected by a R. Mika using corner 50/50 shenanigans, and just because I chose incorrect in both rounds, I got perfected both rounds. I got so angry that I have not played an online fighting game ever since. Only now am I thinking of coming back, giving it another try, see if I can have a better mental state about it.

Regarding the "ridiculous" hairpin. Strive Millia lost her “ridiculous hairpin” and was at the bottom of the tier lists for 2-3 years from the moment of release... Millia's weaknesses must be compensated for. A character with low reward and high risk should have high potential.

@shiv3rcubesolver6648 ай бұрын
As an Axl player, playing against Anji as Axl is one of my least favorite fights. Anji feels heavily favored, and a lot of it comes from the fact he changes neutral in a way that seriously affects Axl's gameplan.

I constantly go back and forth on whether I think Elphelt or Johnny are worse to deal with. Johnny feels like a stronger character, but with how hard he can be to use compared to elphelt I always seem to end up with more salt against elphelt.
