I had dowloaded the software from the official website, but when I load the image I can't edit de borders as the tutorial says, because I click on it and it closes. After that the screen freezes and I can't even close the program. Anything you can do to help me? please

OY VEY. No but seriously this is very limited in application where every scene relies on computer processing and "guessing"how to fill up the space left by moving the objects. As a way to grab a 3d object from a picture? Yes it's cool. But we need to see this in actual applicable software before you can confirm this to be real. Rather than some fuckery with 3d software.
@jumpjack27 жыл бұрын
yes... and the background magically appears when you cut/move the 3d objects.... Why posting such a hoax clip?!? is it supposed to be funny?

Look up image healing in things like PhotoShop. It is old tech to remove objects from images. That doesn't make this real but removing things from images is.

Too bad this requires some level of symmetry and that it gets fooled by shadows etc. But it's great technology. Just needs to mature a bit more for practical use.
@KaltatheNobleMind7 жыл бұрын
they can get around those errors by allowing the user to manually edit the curve. like with the bottle that has poor edges you can simply put a new edge that follows the contour. for the toothpaste, i could see a similar editor that allows you to put in primitives you think fit better and the app can blend the new 3d model with the current. think the same can be said for the table with odd perspective.

-Looks too good to be true. If this was legit, you would have shown the entire interface of the software instead of showing us the edited photos . And if so, Hollywood would have mentioned this ground-breaking technology already. - Creating texture out of thin air even for the other side which is not visible? What soft of witchcraft do you use to uv unwrap it? - This software really defies the laws of physics and cgi - It would probably disrupt the entire industry. Imagine modelling absolutely "anything" from a photograph - It's the 21st century after all, technology like this is bound to be invente tho

"-Looks too good to be true. If this was legit, you would have shown the entire interface of the software instead of showing us the edited photos . And if so, Hollywood would have mentioned this ground-breaking technology already." sadly a lot of breakthroughs become vaporware because nobody knows the potential or companies just buy it to sit on it. "- Creating texture out of thin air even for the other side which is not visible? What soft of witchcraft do you use to uv unwrap it?" they simply project the photo onto both the visible side and the occluded side of the model and maybe do some automatic symmetry to clean up messier projections. as for how they get rid of the background Photoshop has had Content Aware Fill since CS5, maybe even earlier. " This software really defies the laws of physics and cgi" not sure where you got physics from but $50 says this can be cooked up in a plugin API. all it does is find edges and then flips those edges in a symmetrical way to build a 3d form. like it can turn a hexagon shape into a cube shape by mirroring the bottom 3 points into a 4 point plane and extrudes that new square shape into a cube shape that follows the contours of the diamond, making the 12 pointed hexagon actually an 8 pointed cube. "- It would probably disrupt the entire industry. Imagine modelling absolutely "anything" from a photograph" it would increase productivity by %200. compositors would use it to generate quick 3d scenes from plate footage to pass off to the VFX guys without having to waste precious time for structure-from-motion to take hours to generate and don't need to go on location to lidar and photogrammetry the environment at the beginning, just leave that technology for the final comp when the scene blocking is complete. modelers will use it as a kitbash app that lets them model boring and mundane but very necessary items like tools hardware utensils etc leaving more time to create the wholly unique and original assets ie you use 3-sweep to "model" all the car parts your transformer character would be covered in. 3d printers and prop makers will use 3-sweep to generate "base models" of movie props they can't get their hands on physically allowing them to get rough measurements to build off of rather than having to manually measure each dimension, doubly so for things that only exist in photos now like demolished buildings and lost artifacts. AI scientists working with machine vision will use 3-sweep to feed their algorithms prime examples of the images it will see being physical objects, by having the original photo along with its to the pixel accuracy model providing depth, contour, volume and other attributes found in 3d items. this can only help the industry not hurt it. "- It's the 21st century, after all, technology like this is bound to be invented tho" too true. if they don't release it someone else would make it given it simple nature. hell we got a face mapping technology remade this year when the tech existed sicne 1999.

@joenap71587 жыл бұрын
geosemantic snapping - this is a brilliant idea. The examples use objects pretty much built from primitives and symmetric textures so this video does show the best cases. A head would probably end up looking like a cylinder with another face on back. Photogrammetry would offer detail while this would be incredibly fast and require less. I'm probably going to dream about this tonight.

Looks like a CAD program, somebody is generating a ruse! Don't always believe what you see. A software program such as this, if real, would generate some serious revenue flow and one of the big software companies would have put it on the shelf as soon as they could get it written and put in a box. I like the part where they change the Hanoi Towers, or whatever it was called and then started playing the game. RIGHT!

It sounds too good to be true. If it was legit, there would have been a demo already. This was probably part of rND and if this was ever released it would revolutinalise everything and disrupt the status quo.

The problem with this vs. constructing your own 3D model of the object is the fact you won't be able to manipulate the lighting of something you take straight from a picture, which will make it look out of place.
