these doors are shit. attempting an install right now. frame dimensions from top and bottom are half inch different. and i see no horizontal movement when trying to adjust

We have Marvin windows from 12 years ago were do you get the replacement pins at. The place we got them is no longer there.

Hello Robert - Thank you for watching! Do you have Marvin windows? If so, there should only be one size of screen pins (although there are a few slight variations depending on vintage and product). If you don't have Marvin windows, I recommend finding out the window manufacturer and finding the dealer nearest you. Every manufacturer has different parts and pieces specific for their unique products. If you need to find the Marvin dealer nearest you, please visit www.marvin.com and click on "Find a dealer". what about the weather strip in you briefly showed that goes across the top of the jamb against the top sash? All of mine have dry rotted and fallen out. How do you replace them?

Thanks for your question. This video applies to Marvin windows, so if your apartment has Marvin... then yes! If your windows are from another manufacturer I would recommend finding more information from them on their specific parts and instructions. PS - I would recommend reaching out to your landlord if you think any adjustments need to be made to your windows.

The problem isn't knowing the seals need replacing, the problem is finding the parts. Marvin Window sellers are NOT interested in selling weatherstripping, finding parts that match Marvin windows is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE and the Marvin window sellers do not give a shit after the sale. Overpriced windows made with gimmicky weather stripping that is pretty much no longer made if you need the parts. Pretty close to criminal products.

To find your local dealer go to marvin.com and click on "find a dealer" in the top right (when viewing on a computer). Some dealers may have to order it, whereas some may have it in stock. Steve, you have some helpful videos. Almost all of my cudh windows have lost the head jamb part stop. Windows were put in about 29 years ago. They’ve been laying on each sill for a few years as I try to figure out the part and then how to replace it. I had a similar issue with door weatherstripping but I finally figured that out. I cannot figure out how to remove the old jamb part stops (and many of them are 2nd floor windows). I’m hoping I can do it from inside but I think I know where it is. Do you have any videos on this and other parts. I know they want people to call service but that seems absurd for some of this....like the foamy cube that sits under the inner sash).

Thanks saw this one. It didn’t cover the head jam strip. It took me a minute to figure out how to replace the weather strip on the outside doors to and when I did, it was amazingly doable for a DIY type. I’ll keep looking and appreciate the response.

Goooood timing for this video! We build a house about 5 years ago ... well still finishing up. Got our windows from your Williston VT location. Super happy with them! I just broke one of these pins. The window I broke it on was a double hung Integrity. How do I get more of these pins? Do you have a part number?

Oh my god!!! Tow of my smaller windows out of commission. I followed your instructions on the first window. Thank you. This worked! Clutch feet at the bottom, just as described. This happened about 2 years after installation. I called my long-time contractor to come over and look at the situation. He did not immediately know how to fix it. Thank god I found your video. Now I have to figure out the other one

When I tried to move the clutch my screwdriver slipped and the clutch snapped up with great violence and I think something might have broken inside because there is no tension on the clutch anymore on the one side. Is there a video for repair this? How would I name a search to find some? thanks so much. I really need help on this one!!

Dale - Sorry to hear about your window! Tension is definitely needed when resetting the clutch feet otherwise this will happen. If the clutch went up and there is still tension, sometimes you can bring it back down. However it sounds like you might have damaged/broken your balance tube. This is typically handled by our service team. If you purchased your windows through us (Windows & Doors By Brownell) please call in to our service team at 802-862-4800. If this window was not purchased through us, please either call your Marvin window retailer OR find the one closest to you by searching www.marvin.com under "Find a Dealer".

The weatherstrip profile may have been slightly modified to increase performance. The etching number you provided refers to the glass code only and does not necessarily describe your specific unit. I have a brand new French door that I installed I don't remember the name I bought it at a lumber yard in Philadelphia seeing or why was drawn for the back set I had to board a hole for the door knob and a backset when I went through my drill pulled me and I cracked the pain and I I know how to get one of the vertical piece of molding off but exclude sure machine made the door I want to see a video of how to take that one piece of molding also I can replace the class if not I got to buy a whole new door I don't want to buy a home and do it at $200 to 30 inch door I think it's the one two three 659 I need to know how to get there so I can put the glass back in a little pain anybody got an answer please get back to me get back to me my email [email protected]

Thanks for this. In FL the weatherstripping bulb and spline type harden up and leak like a sieve. I had replaced a couple by sliding in which was a pain, but your suggestion of using my screen spline tool made it a breeze. Thanks! Of course getting the spline size I need is still the biggest problem.

Thank you for showing that the window has to be lifted straight up out of the clutches before twisting and removing it from the frame. Most videos don't show this very important step and you'll end up tearing a clutch out of its track as I did.

+Hil Palmer Just for clarification, Marvin makes two fiberglass products (called Integrity and Infinity) however Marvin does not make any vinyl products. Replacing the weather-stripping can increase window/door performance, but if your windows are in poor condition there is only so much weather-stripping can do. Feel free to call our main office at 800-773-4803 so that we can find out more about the issues you are having and can help come up with the best solution.

+Windows & Doors By Brownell I believe they were the Integrity. I thought they came about the same time I was building (2010). Our builder is the one that recommended them... with an up charge of course.

Hello - I have tilt in windows that do not have releases. I am supposed to push the track on the side and then pull out the window frame. This requires a lot of effort, and I don't think it should - possible breakage here. Could you please let me know how to tilt out this kind of window. Thank you.
