Dear William, does the cursive alphabet is different in The UK from USA or even among various States of America? I read a book years ago, it said ''H'', ''K'' and ''A'' ... are different in schools of some States...

My recommendations if writing smaller is hard: - Embrace the size; double-space your lines. Even good paper is cheap, and broad nibs are fun. - Slant your writing slightly more. Italic writing allowed closer lines and that still applies. Make sure to adjust your paper so that the angle stays consistent across the page. - Find wider ruled paper, especially if you have bad eyes. It will be easier to write and easier to read back. You can use blank paper and print your own line-guide, there are many online.

I've just come across this video, two years after buying this gadget and not knowing what to do with it! I spent half an hour or so then put it in a drawer in my art room. Today I have had a clear out and was going to chuck it in the bin and then remembered youtube might just have a how to video. Well, it all seems rather easy now and I feel a bit silly 😊 I got it when I was drawing zentangles, might go back to that now I can do circles lol. Thanks William, I'll be able to spend a few hours doodling the afternoon away, ignoring the awfully dreich day it has turned into 😊 all the best from Scotland ❤

Well done mate. I suggest you take the bits and letters you find easiest from across the different styles, finding what best suits you and make them your own. There's a lot to be said to writing in a normal cursive hand but adding a few flourishes with fancy capitals and a few fancy loops on your 'g' and 'y's and crosses on tour 't's. Learn to give each letter a finishing foot/flick at the end automatically, I find this helps with the beginning of the next letter. Try and get a rhythm as you write each word, the letters tend to be more even then. Xxx
@williambanks8914Ай бұрын

Copperplate ratios are 2:1:2, not 1:1:1. In other words, the areas you marked as "A" and "D" should be twice as tall as your x-height. Hope this helps.
@williambanks89142 ай бұрын
@@raminmoheb6504 yes it is and thanks for commenting. I’ve seen other people use the 1:1:1 and once I gave it a try it seemed easier to adapt to standard writing paper without the fuss. The lowercase r is very much like an American cursive r. I have seen one other KZbinr do the same”nu” for a w. I would change that too. Not sure how a thick upstroke can be done. Digital artistic license I think. Looks daft anyway.
@williambanks89142 ай бұрын
@@juicylouisey yeah some letters look similar and as we write them I can only say we are in charge and decide what we write down. As for the thick upstroke it’s impossible to achieve in one stroke upwards. I will research the American r but my eyes says the same looks daft. Thanks for watching.
