Hey, trust me there are enough loose ends to steer a cruise ship through in regards to how Julia's body was found AND identified since she undressed b4 she walked into the sea. Otis was there to tie up the Night Country cave, and whoever mightve been involved in the murder of Annie. Episode 5 was so revealing because it had to be for the writers to lead into the finale. All that happened was a clear indication of poor pacing, poorly developed characters, and time wasted on inconsequential characters, imo. I wonder if the show would've been better received had it not been entitled True Detective, but because it is part of the series( for rating purposes imo), it is getting comparisons made to season 1 that it never had a chance to live up to that brilliance of a season. I believe MAX shot themselves in the foot with this one, respectfully.

Show 4 is not worth to watch, it totally sucks

The child that Navarro sees is Danvers' deceased son, Holden. There was a flashback in another episode where "Twist and Shout" was playing while Danvers played with Holden. In episode one, Holden had also appeared saying, "She's awake." The song in general seems to be a trigger for Danvers. The Wheeler situation seems to further this point. Also, just speculation because I also thought Travis was dancing in episode one. I think he was imitating drowning. I've been wondering if the scientists were swimming at some point. Maybe they were forced to swim at some point, and they woke up a polar bear. I think the corneal burns they had came from an explosion or bright refraction of some kind. Snow Blindness is a thing that occurs pretty frequently in the Arctic with the sun off of snow. A bright flash or explosion could have caused it. If it were an explosion, it could also fuck with their ears. I think the only for sure supernatural elements of the show are the ghosts that pass on messages. Lund does not count in this regard. Every other appearance is presented as straightforward with camera movement that accounts for the ghosts in the scene. Lund, on the other hand, is hidden from the camera by the wall and then shown after the camera moves to indicate a shift to Navarro's POV. I think this is Navarro's PTSD manifesting. Good video! Good review but somehow, why do I get the feeling Ola, from your perspective, seems like the villain. His reaction is what is expected from someone deeply hurt. He wanted the reason for doing what she did and it is not unreasonable to want to know. Whitney seemed to think she should get a pass because they had been together for ten years and that should be enough to paper up the cracks. Ola is not the villain.

I didn’t play the game and it still felt empty. The previous episode helped cause *truly* you see how they connected but meh. It felt like giraffe, murder spree, betrayal, sadness, end.

This is the first review of Severance where someone actually noticed that those pictures displayed of Helly R. were off. There was barely any smiling for her except for when they had the dance party and was wearing yellow. Great observation!

I don't see how they could "choose" certain people. How would they know that the woman from Lexington would happen to be listening to the radio and when to broadcast it? I can see Lumon targeting a type of person but not a specific one.

I was wondering how they explained how Gemma could be alive at Lumon if her husband believed she was dead. I do have a theory about that. Lumon owns the whole town. They may have an arrangement with the hospital regarding comatose or near death patients that come in. Mark could have been told that his wife was too burned or disfigured in the accident for her to be viewed, and so the funeral was closed casket, nobody saw her body. Mark would have no reason to believe she wasn't in that casket, or cremated. But in reality she was taken to Lumon.

Natalie is insufferable, that smug smile of hers when she's communicating with the board and giving Harmony shit.

Our personalities are shaped by our experiences and interactions during our childhood. Both innie and outtie Helly are "her", but their diferent experiences have shaped them in different ways.

Where does it say in the handbook that only management can wear colors? At Lumon both Cobel and Milchick are always wearing grey, black, white, dark blue. I think everyone on the severed floor dresses that way. I knew Helly had to be an Eagan from episode 2. Because of Milchick saying how amazing and miraculous it was that she was there. He wouldn't have said that to an ordinary employee. Helly's outtie probably believed her own bullshit about how working there is so much "fun".

42:46 When Helly learns she is part of a destructive force in the world, the words of contrition become real. No matter how long they tried to brainwash her before, on a core level she knew she hadn't done anything to atone for (as an innie) but once she realizes what her outie is a part of, the remorse is real. That's my take and I got chills when she was repeating it for the first time and meaning every word of it. I've watched this show twice and didn't pick that up on the first viewing. This series is worth repeating. There's so much in there that I missed before.

I think Harmony's devotion to the cult is the motivating factor in everything she does, not the corporation though. It reminds me of Prince Harry who is rebelling against "The Firm" has no criticisms for The Queen. The administration calls the shots, not the Monarchy and Harry's figured out it was the former who hurt is mother so relentlessly and it was The Firm she rebelled against.

It was the first of this genre of series and a lot of people in good faith went all in on trying to figure out the Lost World only to realize there were no answers, just questions. Ben Stiller never watched Lost, so lets cross our fingers that they don't start doing weird shit with no payoff just to keep people watching.

Loved your theory that Irv is possiblly trying to suppress his sexuality due to the era that he’s from. With that said I think there were other clues that insinuated Irv was in the military himself and that makes it more of a possibility he would be secretive about his sexuality given how homophobic the military is. I also think that Irv is purposely trying to stay awake in his outtie life so that his innie will fall asleep because he has figured out that dreams can transcend regardless of the procedure since they are a part of the subconscious. Lumon forbids sleeping on the job so they must know this as well.

I hope Season 2 opens up exactly where Season 1 ended, with all the innies returning in a daze to their outies. Mark's sister, Devon, will explain what happened to him. The others will not fare as well, I'm afraid.

We know that Irving lives very close to Devon and Ricken because we see him sitting in the same park with his dog, where Devon met the politician and his wife now, I would not be surprised if Irving was at the dinner party as Devon and Rick seem to surround themselves with artsy people, and who knows, Burt might even be there too 😄

Don’t have much to add this week! It was such a great episode, but remember Mark told Helly that when they come back to work that can have a feeling of being refreshed the next day. And Dylan said to mark or Irvine that maybe their outie was drunk and came to work hungover. So they will feel however their outies treat themselves the night before. Oh this caught my attention: They have a camera Helly’s pc, so does that mean they saw Mark and Dylan reading Ricken’s book at their desk?

The way the innies are so formal with each other and Lumon as a whole is so asexual I never would’ve thought that was the insinuation. I legit thought it was just a display of cult like seance rituals. So when Dylan constantly brags about loving the rewards….do the others know that sex is tied to that? Has he ever committed those acts with those masked figures? I’m really flabbergasted now 😂.

I think she has strong connections to the foundations of Lumon (possibly related to the family). Her reveal will definitely be a shocker. I think Hellys “innie” is complete opposite of what she’s been groomed to be in reality. They are way too adamant about her being a part of Lumon and also the mentions from other un-severed characters speak to that as well. It’s cool how you guys got me thinking that the show never stated that Marks wife was actually dead, thru only say “gone”.

Yes like in Get Out as well! I think you are on the right line of thinking with Casey. I think she did die and i also believe the sister said she did as well. I think Alexa works for Lumon now. Not sure in what capacity yet. Also, it was very strange that harmony asked Devon about mark and his wife. There has to be some big experiment involving mark. And Helly is definitely an Eagan.
