When he was five I took my son over the falls in my lap, did a 180 and we hid behind the falls for a while. Don't try that at home please.

reminds me of watching the (already flowing) water-and-ice over the Cohoes Falls or the dam between Waterford and Cohoes during the spring melt!

It's astonishing how at one point one side of the bridge is so dynamic and the other side so static.

The same is happening every spring in the rivers in Finland. Nothing unusual, but spectacular nonetheless. There's a small waterfall in the main river (Vantaa) flowing through Helsinki. Every spring when the ice start to move there is hundreds of people watching it from a bridge over the waterfall.

I remember this day clearly! I was catching icedams on the Winooski, Mad, and Lamoille River's this day. It was a surreal day to be out. The next morning we had 25 inches of new snow, and close to 3 feet when it was all said and done later that day!
