The aircraft flyer flew by? Check your grammar, please.

At least all involved after the crash were civil and respectful.

This jet is an unstable craft especially at low speed. It has a tendency to porpoise because of the highly swept wings. Similar to the Soviet first passenger jet that would loose control and crash regularly.. To this day, in Eastern Europe, when a passenger plane lands safely, the entire group of passengers clap and cheer.

Many years ago, I was in the Norwegian Navy, there were always respect between sailors. You needed an icebreaker call the Russians. And they would show up in no time. All the animosity we’re always between the politicians, pilots and sailors are all the same all over the world. Respect, and honor…..

And you expect us to believe that this airplane touch the water with its wingtip? And it wasn’t shot down…,gotcha. 👀

@@phillipphil1615 i’m a retired Boeing 747 captain… It boggles my mind that silly maneuver would take down a commander on such an advanced aircraft. And we just don’t happen to see the film. Do we?

Super Patriotic Vlady flew too close to the sun, (sea in this case). The wax melted, (metaphorically), when his wing touched the sea. Nothing new as the Greek’s knew.

Is it normal to allow non friendly planes to get that close to a carrier.?

The TU bomber was troubled from the start, but when the soviets cut corners to convert it to a passenger aircraft, pilots found it extremely difficult to fly. It took a long runway for it to stop upon landing. That aircraft had the highest attrition rate of any bomber/passenger aircraft at that time. The pilot was supposedly an Ace, maybe trying to impress sailors on the Essex, and flying too low too fast caused the deaths of himself and the crew. The United States has had its share of hot rod pilots that lost their lives performing the same stunts

Clearly, USS Essex recklessly and unprofessionally sailed too high and too close to the brave Soviet Tu 16 aircraft, causing the accident. 😑

I was on board a Destroyer Escort in the North Atlantic Sea when this incident happened. That Russian aircraft buzzed our fantail on it's way to the USS Essex. Some times we would get plane guard watch following behind the carrier in case a jet went down into the water.
@ninehundreddollarluxuryyac59586 сағат бұрын
No reason to sneak up on the carrier at low or mid altitude because the carrier can not scoot away faster than the plane and disappear. You hunt carriers at high altitude so you can see a wide area. The carrier's wake and trail of prop churned foam is impossible to miss. The 15 meter high flyby was just hot dogging to show off, with predictable consequences. He killed his entire crew.

At 8:10 Russian says accident may have been because the plane had to avoid US unmanned anti submarine helicopter?? Although the US did have these vehicles how did the Russians come up with this with zero evidence when everyone died? It looks to be an unfortunate accident. RIP
