i actually named my ship death trap after it nearly killed me, and then on the next run it again, threatened my life, also in that same run a pirate docked me and tried taking my stuff (i ended up turning him into a net with a tac knife, then a cop demanded me to undock... i think death trap is trying to kill me)

I have been trying to start this game, but I never get a starter ship that is less than 2000 per shift. Did they change something recently so they are always higher now?

@@Joshology I have seen a number of let's plays where they all seem to get it in one or two tries. I have gone 3 full times of retrying (meaning I continue career until it no longer lets me). Oh well

Question: How do you have the icons on items like potions, rods, and scrolls? I'd find that pretty handy to quick glance find what I need.

I just subscribed to you, I’ve gotten super into Ostranauts and I like your idea of starting with this rust bucket of a ship and working your way up. I myself prefer the Testudo Dream, the one with the 4 passenger seats, they sell for a bit and then you’ve got some nice cargo space.

I know I'm late to the party, but just FYI, 1. Carry around 2 crates and place your backpacks and bags inside the crates for more storage. AND ... 2. You can drag EVERYTHING back to your tiny ship and just click "Drop"! Everything will STACK on top of each other! Theoretically, you can scrap an entire ship into you're crappy starter ship, minus the walls! (This is how I made 200K gutting a "Cop Car" that stopped me in my starter ship... Um, "Jettison" the body!)

the pigs wear EVA suits at the station, I started with zero dollars and trolled the station until I got an EVA suit from them. took me whole night at IRL hahaha. but i started with hacking skill. it saved me a lot.

I never tought of trying to see if reading spellbooks with -4 learning works. 😀Well at least it is good to know I do not have to worry about death from negative stats even if I do not try beating permadeath without using any feat points.

Meditating doesn't bring your stamina all the way to the max. Even the makeshift bed doesn't fully fill your stamina, but it'll fill it almost all the way.

An advice for you friend, NPCs that have white names are non hostile, like the infantry you met in the mountain at the start of the game. As long as you don't hit another neutral creature in their vicinity they won't turn on you.

Do your allies level up aswell? If so, maybe you could get the little girl as a archer in your group and level up with you.

Your allies do level up with you, but not in the same way, they gain feat points which you can put into use by using genes, this is mid to late game content, I suggest learning more about it in the Elin wiki. For the more normal levelling, the characters in the game have their own proficiencies, trading with them and clicking the notes tab will show you a limited version of their proficiencies. Once you meet the NPC titled Talesinger they can give you an Item that shows detailed stats of NPCs like your own characters. This does not show their spells and abilities however unless I am stupid and did not see the option for spells and abilities.

I know I’m a couple weeks behind, but…great video and Ooof! Talk about a rough start. I am still new enough playing with skills and traits and some cash to start is hard enough as it is without the challenge of starting “blank” like you did! @@Joshology It's an older game, whether it'll be good for you is whether you enjoy multiplayer games that are rather complicated to learn the mechanics. Though given what I saw in the video you may be up to the task haha. But I used to enjoy it a lot back in the day.

You can use those cardboard boxes you get for delivery as backpacks. They provide pretty big inventory space and weigh practically nothing.

There is a healer in most towns that can restore lost stats.
