The Runaways gave birth to at least 2 superior rock and roll bands, and that is a legacy that is undeniable. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts alone is one of the most powerful rock band around, bar none, no qualifiers like "female led". She is amazing. The there's Lita Ford. You can't deny the talent. The Runaways were a great band, but their offspring are amazing.

Compare this Vintage foray into Pure Female "All Girl Band" energy with the 21st Century's BAND-MAID from Japan back to Us and you'll see that Rockin' Women have come a long way towards their perfection. Joan and Lita were trail Blazers, Miku, Kanami, and Misa are "Livin' the Dream".

I was 15 when I bought The Runaways first album in 1976. It changed my life. Then Queens Of Noise just cemented it. BTW Lita just killed it with her lead solo on this track. One of the best solos ever.

My husband's best friend had a lot of Rock albums from the 1970s and this was one. Everything was destroyed and wiped out in 2005 hurricane katrina.

I bought their 1st 2 albums right about when they came out ; though the producer (a MUCH OLDER man named) Kim Fowley was a real piece of shit ; though they weren't terribly musically sophisticated, only a couple of friends were around the same age as each other (& these girls) were hip enough to appreciate what they were doing, we barely missed seeing them live but while the other dudes listened to crap like Bad Co., Kiss & mainstream shit ; we were into King Crimson, Pink Floyd (before Dark Side...) EARLY Tull, Genesis, Sabbath, Deep Purple & then unknown bands like the first Kansas, Journey (before Steve Perry) first 3 albums, saw them, open for ELP, Rush and Mahogany Rush, Slade, Status Quo, Earliest Nugent & Aerosmith (total unknowns from Boston) & later when the Cars, the Pretenders, the Police, and the Talking Heads...... well I could go on ALL night.,

The Runaways are the greatest all female band of all time! That sound is phenomenal ! Great singing ! Great songs ! They were very underrated! I always say if they came a few years later when mtv came out they would have been massive ! They had a great look too , they were all attractive and I loved their big high platform shoes/boots too as is scene in this video! This is real music and the runaways deserve great recognition ! ❤️🎸🎤

These girls- all five- were great. Best girl rock band of all time. The only thing they didn't have was the maturity to stay together as bandmates! Could you imagine if they had?

U have to remember that they were kids. Can u imagine having all that fame, money, and all the craziness that is just thrusr at u at such a young age. ?.. I don't know how they survived it.

@@joshjones6536 Ok. I believe I recall her saying that, but age doesn't mean the runaway disappears. I mean, an adopted child will remain one always. A runaway too. Sure, it was only a gimmick tag to begin with, but if they stuck with it together they would (could) have built a legacy. Kind of like, "See? See what determined women can create with a 'runaway' background?" Something to be proud of, but they couldn't stick together. It happens and with these girls it really was too bad.
