Unfortunately, HR can do very little to improve engagement. The employee population does not work for HR, and HR has very little impact on getting disinterested leadership to change. In fact, HR has almost no ability to change leadership's actions. So, intuition notwithstanding, all that matter is whether anyone is following the combined intuition of the employees.

Even tho this is completely subjective, and can potentially become a very complicated (digging with a spoon) debate to determine the scientific (analytical) validity of your statement, I think it was beautifully said and I personally think that intuition can be much more powerful in certain situations, if we let it. As the dominant species on our planet, we like to think that we're in complete control of our selves and out minds, but my gut tells me that sometimes out minds are controlling us, and because of that we can't let ourselves be intuitive because of a compulsion of needing to understand everything in order to get to the next step, and the next one, and the next one... Intuition is what makes that process much faster, with the risk of being less precise, but having greater impact.

Thanks for your comments. I'm slowing seeing big firms talk about intuition as one part of their decision making process. What are you seeing in your world?
