is this a master tape, or a rip from vinyl? reel to reel is a great format, but pretty silly considering it's cost, unless it's for professional recording.

Hi Justas, you have a lovely audio system! Your passion shows from the audio gear you’ve thoughtfully chosen and tweaked. What audio RCA interconnects do you use? You mentioned that your speaker cables are Canare - is the model 4S11? Thanks. Keep up the good work! Truly enjoy your videos.
@Justas-M9 күн бұрын
Thank you for these nice words, I really appreciate this feedback! The loudspeaker cable is indeed Canare 4s11g. Lmfao, this is a new level of crazy, there’s literally no possible way for there to be a difference. That’s not opinion either, 1s and 0s are 1s and 0s. There’s literally no way for the laser to be affected, that’s the whole point of using fiber link connections. Also toslink (the one your talking about) can’t handle a bit rate faster then like a cd. Which means you’re not even playing the music at a rate you’d hear the difference of A DIGITAL CABLE. This isn’t my “opinion” these are hard facts and if you deny that, you’re in denial of reality.
@Justas-M9 күн бұрын
@@joeycarlson5934 I deny that.
@joeycarlson59349 күн бұрын
@Justas-M right, well there’s a term from somebody who can’t tell the difference between reality and fiction. We say “they’re in a state of psychosis”. Now when you compare two speaker cables, for an example, you can see that one might have a lower resistance and less RF interference then the other. Even a usb can be affected by this, but you’re talking about a laser signal in a light tight cable. If you want to be stubborn in believing you didn’t waste your money then fine. But the science isn’t there. If you give someone who’s sick a sugar pill and someone else with the same illness no pill, the person who took the sugar pill will have a much higher chance of fast recovery. Your mind is a powerful thing, but your cable is a cable.
@joeycarlson59349 күн бұрын
This isn’t even a thing people are talking about, this is just a few of you guys who think you’ve found something special. The only thing special about it is you’ve actually managed to fool yourself into thinking that there’s a real sonic difference. You might as well say you like the sound of wifi more than Bluetooth.

Have two pairs of JBL L112. I like them better than L166 and L100. Very detailed and easy to listen to. Troels Gravesen has L112 for personal use, but has upgrade the xover. Hi like the drivers. He also have a upgrade modern version of the L112 with another driver baffel design layout. But most JBL fans us it with the old design. Hello. I had these 4343 a long time ago. It's a shame you attach a tube amplifier to them, especially on EL. These speakers were created for professional use and there were no tubes in the studio. They need a strong current. Connect them to an amplifier like Amcron and you will be pleasantly surprised
@Justas-M15 күн бұрын
@@free-ew2ro thank you for your comment. I have run these speakers with several powerful transistor amplifiers and concluded I do not need that amount of power in my relatively small room. However I enjoy the tube harmonics since these speakers are ideal to be run on tubes. Totally flat impedance characteristics contribute to that. I am looking forward to try them on low powered 2a3 or 45 triodes, I am sure they will be a perfect match.
@free-ew2ro15 күн бұрын
@Justas-M I tried all McIntosh 240,275 and transistors with them, the sound is bad. 300B has no bass. Not a bad result with Mark Levinson. Here the question is what you want to get. 4343 has a suspension on the speaker made of foam rubber, you have probably already changed them. This suspension has no return speed, the low frequencies are inflated. You need a fast amplifier.

You cannot go wrong with a nicely modified Lenco GL75- it can wipe the floor with many modern decks. I have a GL75 with PTFE V block bushes, a heavy MDF plinth with rosewood veneer, and the G800 cartridge has been modified with a Fritz-Geiger diamond tip and a Ruby cantilever. The upgrade in performance is staggering- it's genuine audiophile quality. The Lenco is very well built and the 4 pole motor is very high quality. Garrard 401 is a fine deck- probably the best deck of it's era......
@j69buckjumper28 күн бұрын
Just listened to Tke Five on a mint original 45 on my GL75 and on my Garrard 401. I could only just make out motor noise from the GL75 when the volume was up fairly loud. No noise from the 401. Both turntables had speed fluctuation of 0.06 rpm. The 401 is probably at least a decade older and is absolutely bullet proof construction, never really needs any maintenance. The GL75 took a lot of work to get it back in proper operation. The 401 has a better arm and headshell/cartridge combination (I'm using SME 3009 with Shure V15 type IV) True the GL75 would cost a great deal less to replace. My verdict: If I were buying these now I would only be able to afford the GL75 and it is much better than most turntables in that price range. If I was offered a 401 I would have it over nearly anything else, it is truly outstanding in its reliability and sound reproduction. Teated with the same record, speakers and amp. (Kef Concertos from 1973 and Leak Stereo 30 plus c.1965 ish like the 401.)
