my all-time favorite athlete and as indescribable a swing as tiger woods. you can't make words relate what the motion entices in you. it is pure athletic brilliance. all that power and he turns his hips so effortlessly through it. i remember the backwards hat, the bat swivel, all of it being so culturally significant. i'm a lefty, too, so everything i did in little league was to be ken griffey jr. outside of MJ and Tiger, for sure, and arguably allen iverson and michael vick, i think ken griffey jr. has the most lasting impact of all athletes to us late 80's-early 90's babies. and top 5 to an entire generation is a pretty monumental contribution

Mariners fan here. Those were fun days in the late 90's. Big Unit, the Bone, Edgar, Tino, Dan, A-Rod, and of course Griffey and his sweet swing. I swear they never looked like home runs coming off his bat as he was so effortless. Then they just grew wings an flew. That swing was such a thing of beauty...

I heard one describe his swing how he pushed off his back side l say ues and no he strides pivots his FRONT lower side hands take over in his beautiful bat path the pivot of his front effects his hands arms lower back side they were pulled Not pushed then then the hands go into action untwsting as he said himself long thru the hitting zone in a flow with those hands if you untwist your wrists corretly with slight upswing the sweet spot is exposed long thu hitting zone ANDthat is when push look at Mike Austin thru the golf swing the front hip pibots and opens if you push lower bsck half too soon l dont think you will be behind the swing you could lose posture and powee lm not going to say who said that but l think they need to test their theories off moving pitches. I do

Please give this a read if you get a chance. Here is the Gospel (or, Good News): God says that we are sinners and that no amount of good works or behavioral changes on our part could ever make us holy enough to enter into Heaven. God sent His only begotten Son to be crucified on the cross to pay for our sins. Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin that we could not pay. 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Jesus paid for our sins by dying on the cross for us all. His dead body was buried in a grave. On the third day, Jesus raised up bodily from the dead. The instant you believe this, God knows it and He saves you. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” The free gift (Romans 5:15) is based solely upon your trust in what Jesus did for you, and has absolutely nothing to do with what you do for Him. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” It is that simple my friend to be saved 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version "15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"(1 co15:1-4)

Die hard Yankee fan here. But I’m also a child of the 90s. And Jr. was it! He WAS the game. I was obsessed with baseball (still am) and dang…that swing that Griffey had was just perfection! I hit left-handed and all I wanted was to swing like Griffey (Will Clark, Robin Ventura and Rafael Palmeiro were my other choices). But Jr.’s swing was always the best! Sad to see my man Cone getting rocked by Griffey. David still jokes about how Jr. had his number in Yankee broadcasts. 1995 was tough for me…still the last time I cried after a ballgame (that horrific Game 5 in Seattle!) 😞 But yea…I’m here to praise Griffey’s swing. A

Great hitter but not the greatest of all time. Theres some other players id argue were better. Ted Williams comes to mind. No disprespect at all to Griffey.
@johnbrooks77536 ай бұрын
Prettiest swing of all time from pure mechanics. When everyone juiced. No disrespect to Ted in any way but I’d like to believe pitching and analytics were better in Griffey’s era.

i've heard the words effortless thrown around before, but this transcends that. It genuinely looks like the bat is moving in slow motion as an extension of his arms but the motion is so fluid that you'd think it would be faster than it is but it's still hard to see because his bat was black, his sleeves were dark blue and tv back then sucked in terms of definition.
@joshuapatrick68211 ай бұрын
his swing is so pretty that you can't even really see it because his bat and his sleeves were black...it's genuinely kind of amazing.

That's definitely what made his swing what it was. He didn't need to lift his lead leg two feet off the ground and plant himself like a redwood. He just swung the bat and made things happen. Lifelong and diehard Dodgers fan but Griffey is my favorite player of all time.

Been watching a Shill bidder that is all over another seller for a different category of item... He has 100% bidding history with the seller, he has bid on no other seller's items. And I just dumped something on him... Let's see if he retracts within 12 hours. It's too bad you aren't even allowed to report those slimebag Shill bidders, they are a very low form of life.

Because of the extension after contact. His swing is compact and he stays inside the ball though.
