This Psychedelic 😵💫 tune 🎶 is amazing 🤩. I remember in those days when Hip Shops were around they’d play this type of music 🎵. They’d sell all types of things including albums which was this type of music. Older people wouldn’t go in to check it out it was Hippies and young individuals with longhair. When the 1980’s came around that was the end of the Hip Shops. If you wanted to buy albums with this type of music 🎵 the Hip Shops were the place to find them.😊

I'm only interested in one thing. How verbatim the generation quotes the material on which it was trained. The whole listening experience does leave a feeling of deja vu, but it is impossible to find a specific plagiarism. Strawberry Alarm Clock? Pink Aloyd? Dave Brubeck? Beatles. If the training base consists of hundreds of groups, many of which are little known, it will be very difficult to determine the degree of "citation" or the machine's own composing skills. Anyway, when I first listened, I exactly take it for a real band, some thought flashed through my mind, but the music didn't bother me, the covers confused me more, the image generation is more revealing at the moment. Music is largely mathematical, for example, a 12-bar blues standard will not be difficult to generate even without advanced mathematical calculations of complex computers, in fact, many rock and rolls are the same, anyone can "generate" their own template. In melodic works, the situation is much more complicated. please note, the girl is completely white, the paper seems to be perfect. Yellowing has been added along the edges, but it does not look organic, it cannot be that the image of a girl has been preserved so perfectly clean and white for decades. I live in Russia and I can't catch if the pronunciation is unnatural, the music sounds organic, there are two facts that can confuse a very overheard person - the whole composition looks like "poppuri" is usually not composed like that, but considering that we are talking about the 60s, when anything could be, it only plays into the hands, you can believe in any creative experiments of musicians. And the second, the mixing, is very distilled-pure, as if digital.

I really liked your comment; it has very thoughtful observations. I agree that the lack of realistic aging can be a weak point, though in my case, I aimed to evoke nostalgia with a modern touch rather than replicate something strictly old. As for the originality of AI, it’s true that very few bands manage to create something entirely new. However, AI works with a vast musical database, including genres we often don’t even know exist. This allows it to mix and reinterpret in surprising ways, opening up creative possibilities beyond simply combining preexisting elements.

I didn't know what to think at first but I like it. I understand why people are upset however I realize you are creating something unique and new although the harmonics are associated with the past. You can create the same song with a guitar and various instruments and devices however NOW you can use additional resources like AI. For filmmakers this is AMAZING.... I love live music but musicians are a surly bunch when it comes to ideals on demand for a commercial marketplace environment.

Everything about this is fraudulent and pointless. If I want to evoke "nostalgia" I can do that quite easily by listening to music that has actually been created by human beings who lived and worked very hard to produce music. In the first place, do you think that artists were trying to "spark nostalgia"?? Hell no! They created music... art... based on something they felt inside. What you are doing not only fails miserably to simulate the music of "1966", but the attempt to do so makes you a vampire, a leech. Pick up a damn instrument and learn to play. Write some lyrics. There is a vast world of great music out there and to simply wish to larp as music is dreadful and wretched. Stop jerking off over the bones of the dead.

I sold your great grandfather his first guitar (1968) when I was working at Kramer's Music Corner in NY. He formed PTFD the following day and they played their very first show later that evening. After the show your grandfather negotiated a record deal with a record executive from a fledgling record label and their first album was released less than a month later. I am looking forward to a 60th anniversary reunion tour in 2028!
@thepapyrusandthefaithfuldreamsАй бұрын
I think there’s a bit of confusion. My great-grandfather played the bass, so you’re probably referring to his bandmate Declan Walsh. It’s officially known that Declan didn’t have children because he passed away young, but there are rumors that he had a child during the Cosmic Sea tour at one of their shows. The only original member still alive is the keyboardist, Finn Byrne, and we’ve actually talked about the possibility of doing a tour in 2028 to celebrate the 60th anniversary. Everything else you mentioned is absolutely true-so many records were released during that era, and I’m working on recovering them to keep that part of history alive.

If you wanted to keep the spark of the sixties alive then you would listen to living artists playing in that style. The cultural movement around psychedelic rock was centered around the rejection of the status quo, and the embrace of what it is to be HUMAN, through the creation of art, and through political action against racism, ,imperialism, and consumerism. By using AI to make this you have chosen to get your music from a faceless, billion dollar corporation, whose only goal is to learn from your behavior and later influence it to mold you into a better consumer. You could have gone to the record store, or a music forum, and asked someone "hey, where can I find some obscure 60's psych stuff?" and you would have found it, easily. But you were too lazy. Too complacent. And too enthralled in the siren song of the algorithm to give a damn. You should absolutely be ashamed this is AI. there are many many real life bands playing music like this today . rather than pay attention to any of those people, you subject yourself to this empty dreck. And if someone happens to defend this guy, you are also dumb and bad for liking this.
@robinohara226Ай бұрын
what you have here is a pastiche of Donovan, The Monkeys, Jefferson airplane, the kinks, and other psychadellic bands, passed through the HR filter of a mega corporation which has stripped it of anything vital, emotional, edgy, or endearing. Listen to the "vocalist" every line is delivered in the same stuttering, unfeeling tone. The "guitarist" sounds like they're being forced to play by threat of violence. What you have created is paste. You've taken something which was expressive, beautiful, and inspiring, and turned it into something that would be used in the background of an insurance commercial. There isn't a single memorable line or riff in this entire thing. Listen to Warren Zevon, listen to The Rolling Stones, listen to bob dylan, listen to joni mitchell. And after you're done listening to all the old stuff you can listen to the thousands of real life bands creating excellent psychadellic rock today. JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T LISTEN TO THIS

After every innovation comes the withering away of the skills that came before them, along with the joyous erasure by new converts that anything was ever lost. "Why would I take a walk when I can drive my car?" "Why would I remember how to get there if I have GPS?" "Why would I read the books if I can watch the shows?" The algorithm is breeding more and more people who don't care, who can't tell the difference.

I think there's no reason to be ashamed of the fact it's AI. It shows how far the tech has come, and it also proves that good stuff can still be made today that sounds just like the good old days. All I'm saying is that the cover art looks more like 1968 or 1969 than '66. And that things are not automatically psychedelic just because something is a folk ballad. ...okay, about halfway through (around c. 5:20), "Fade into the Sun II" is starting to sound *REMOTELY* psychedelic.
@thepapyrusandthefaithfuldreamsАй бұрын
I completely agree with many things you’ve said. I labeled it as 1966, and I admit that was a mistake. I knew it was a stretch. I exaggerated way too much with 1966. I didn’t want to put 1969 because I placed the previous album around 1968, and for some strange reason, I decided on 1966 to create a backstory about this single being older (a silly idea that didn’t quite work out). That said, I’ll leave it as it is because choosing 1966 ended up sparking some really great comments. So, I made a mistake, but it worked out in the end. As for Fade into the Sun II, I’d say it leans more toward the '70s and beyond. It’s got a vibe closer to Pink Floyd during Dark Side of the Moon or similar albums. I hope my future projects will align better with their intended eras. Regarding the cover art, you’re right-it probably fits better with 1968 or 1969. However, it doesn’t bother me too much since it complements the lyrics I wrote, which do have a touch of psychedelia. Also, I must admit, I’m so in love with acoustic tracks that it’s hard for me to step away from them-they’re definitely my biggest weakness, haha!

Very, very interesting, impressive actually. Do you perform any post-editing on the music or is this the final result obtained from the parameters you set in the AI query? In 1968 music of this genre and pop music in general was still produced with a heavy dose of reverb. It's very much a trademark sound of this era. A year later more and more artists dropped the reverb in their music but it was still present until the very early '70s. I listened to the whole album with reverb added and boy what a difference it made! Much more authentic and better sounding overall. The first track is a garage-psych rocker although more reminiscent of the neo-psych revival bands of the '80-'90s.

What an incredible amount of detail you picked up on! To answer your question, I’m not particularly interested in taking full credit for this, but there are some songs where I apply a few changes and tweaks to make them better. Especially the first and best track, Cosmic Sea. If I hadn’t added that specific touch, it wouldn’t have been the song it is. With AI, you can guide the direction of a track by adding an instrumental intro, incorporating keyboards, etc., but the real magic of the song is about 90% thanks to the UDIO platform and 10% my small adjustments. As I like to say, I’m more of a graphic designer than a musician or producer. Also, all the lyrics are written by me, and you can tell because they all share an aquatic theme!. Thank you for your comment, I really enjoyed reading and replying to it!
