I don't quite understand why the Jeet kune do practitioner continues to stay within the system as originally conceived by Bruce Lee Jeet kune do was Bruce Lee's way to find "No WAY" as the way. Your average Jeet kune do teacher looks like he's doing Jeet kune do this is blasphemy. It was never meant to be a complete system but forever growing and changing.

I heard that jun fang gung fu was bruce lee version of wing chun and jkd more like combination of fencing, boxing, wing chun etc. But l curios about jung fan gung fu and what the different with wing chun.
@SuperMaryu76710 ай бұрын
@dekaesaputera8129 Contrary to popular belief, in the late sixties Bruce began to remove wing chun and by 1970, nothing wing chun related were in his training schedule instead, focused on more boxing, weight training and street effective techniques according to his personal training schedule in the art of expressing the human body. He describes his fighting approach in 1969 as "efficient street fighting with everything goes." And that he named his style jkd and not sticking to wing chun because it isn’t efficient.

@@dekaesaputera8129 not just that, jkd fits the practitioner. If the person is good at kicking then they focus more on using kicks, if mobility then use more footwork.

One of the best demonstrations and descriptions of the Straight Lead. Its so simple, but so hard to perfect. Even Sifu Ted Wong said it took him years to refine it. Well done Abe.🙏🐉

Sifu Abe Santos doing the SIL NIM TAO The first #wingchun form. Originally, the 3 forms were all in one form with 108 moves. Or so we think. #vingtsun is the core essence of #junfangungfu and #jeetkunedo is the totality of all 4 forms in one. It’s light, free, it doesn’t complain, or boast. JKD is quiet, peaceable, I call it fluffy. A loose and fast attack art that intercepts and demolishes regular #martialarts styles.

㊙️JKD by SON TSI the Martial Philosopher. 1. See his front leg. Longest tool on the closest target. 2. See his lead hand? He’s using a STOP PALM instead of a LEAD VERTICAL FIST. Usually, we hit with the lead punch. Here, because he’s demonstrating. He goes with the safer STOP PALM. 3. Once he feels a contact, he commits to a PUSH STEP or STEP n SLIDE. Now he’s closer. Without that key step he’d be screwed. This is crucial jkd stuff. Distance. Control. Release the whip. All relevant. By controlling the structure he opens up potential for a finish. These aren’t rules. They’re smart tactics learned overtime. They’re key fundamentals.

Abe is one of our best. #brucelee wanted us to be efficient. Effective. Simple. Non-classical. We do have a curriculum. That said. We don’t want carbon copy fighters teaching plastic rigid rule based approaches. Good to see real jkd being taught. I would love to have you stop by n see what we do over here. I think lineage based jkd can learn a trick or two from WRESTLING based pedigrees. Or STREET FIGHT experienced people. Possibly, people who’ve been in unwanted street encounters, VS just book trained people. Idk. Your thoughts. Please. And ty. ✅🤟😉💯💥

Sifu Abe. We teach the same exact methods and that’s a good stop. One thing I did notice was... the guys back hand hadn’t been taken out. Collected. Wing chun is useful in jkd for that exact reason. Not a criticism by the way. I am a supporter. ☮️💥💯😉the way we would handle it. 1. THE BUI SAO. Your back hand with a step n slide or push step. ☮️🤟💯😉I think that’s cool that you don’t sell the public out like we see so often. I was a heat and ac apprentice so I know the value of being comparably competent 😛✅the answer would be. 1. SHIFT to BUI SAO Left hand. With PAK SAO. Gua choy right hand. And PING CHOY left hand to finish. Those might not land. But done correctly.. it’s a structure one could teach. In tight boxing. #jkd my pleasure. 😛🤛

Jeet Kune Do - This is not a style, as most used to think. Technically, Jeet Kune Do is more of a mixed hand-to-hand combat system based on the principle of preempting attacks. The name itself speaks for itself: from the Cantonese dialect of the Chinese language, Jeet Kune Do - "The Way of the Leading Fist" (Jit - get ahead, intercept, Kun - fist, Do - way). Jeet Kune Do cannot be called a style because there is no standard technique that is taught in the same way in all clubs in the world. In addition, the technical arsenal is not limited and is constantly being developed and supplemented. This is the essence of Jeet Kune Do: there is no "point A" and "point B", the final stage of mastery. There is no limit to perfection, but we must strive for it. Jeet Kune Do, as a mixed system, relies not so much on the technical arsenal, but more on the principle (core, engine), in this case, the tactics of advancing. It is the principle that makes it a weapon, technique is a tool. Jeet Kune Do, of course, has its own technical base, which helps to understand the principle and, most importantly, start learning to use it. But this is the base, not the whole system. The main task of Jeet Kune Do is to teach how to work freely, not remembering how it is “allowed” to hit the system, but how it is “not allowed”, without remembering learned combinations that may not be appropriate in this particular situation and, ultimately, develop your own fighting style. The philosophy of Jeet Kune Do preaches freedom and the ability to adapt. This is a philosophy not only of combat, but of life in all its manifestations. Jun Fan's slogan: "Move like water. Freeze like a mirror. Answer like an echo."
