It seems like Caesar had reasons for military intervention I gaul up until now. But this time the belgae just wanted Caesar to leave. And Caesar said no.

Considering the ease with which the Romans handled both the Helvetians and Ariovistus, Caesar likely figured that the time for conquering the Celts was now, and that if Rome failed to do so that the Germans would end up taking Gaul. Which ended up being the case, as the Romans eventually gave way to a couple of Germanic tribes, the Franks and the Burgundians.

Hit and miss: he does not always observr phonetic vowel lenght, mispronounces the "v," and there is no final "m" reduction.

Tolkien is a funny guy. Loved Latin, hated the Roman empire. So whether he woulda loved or hated these Roman dubs of the theatre based on his books boils down to what period in Roman history closest matches the Latin used in the dubs.

Thank you !!! I'm getting through 6 now and had no idea when, or if, number seven would be completed. Utterly compelling - especially because of the imperious and realistic, Caesar-like delivery ... 🏆✨
