Love that more people are getting int this. I started with a buddy gifting me a dr10 rtr for christmas a couple years back. Now, he bought himself and cousin a traxxas and losi, and kept claiming id never be faster, and my deep dive began. Its been a frustrating love affair. I now have 5 drag cars, 3 speed runners, multiple bashers, and finally pucked up an xmaxx. Funny thing, that dr10 is the fastest of all my drag cars, and my buddy refused to race headsup on 2s. Turns out 3s wasnt enough for his traxxas to keep me from gapping him on 2s. Never faster my eye!

I soak mine in fuel overnight then clean with brushes and the fuel it soaked in. Turns out really good

I think with a little modification, those shocks could be mounted with a small bracket that wraps around the axle kinda like a 1 hole strap.

Did you try driving it with all four traxx on the Gen8? They'd probably pivot a lot but not too bad. The dampener would definitely help if you could modify it to fit them.

I just picked one up used this weekend that had an issue with the front drive shaft being jammed like you said. I put it in a vice and pulled it apart. when I put it back together it wouldn't go back in. I found that if you spiin one of the ends it will slip together easily like it is keyed to only go together in one way. I took a paint marker and marked both halves so I just need to line up the paint to put back together. I confirmed that same issue iwth the other front drive shaft.

The easy way is a mild acid and an ultrasonic cleaner turn it on for about 30 seconds and they come out squeaky clean.

Paint works,also it is sometimes possible to slip over a section of heatshrink tubing of a bright colour, and then shrink it-won't wear off and stays forever,and easily found. By the way the car appears to be sold as a "Redcat" in the US but is in fact made by HSP-very many parts and upgrades can be found on aliexpress for these cars. I have built 2 complete cars from parts I ordered there, that way I could mix and match to use the best upgrades to make the rally cars I wanted. For example a thicker alloy chassis-less flex,more strength and more weight low for better handling, just to name one thing, but long stroke shocks and alloy shock towers, the list is pretty much endless, to make the car you want,road,drift or rally.

Like many of us who bought a DR-10, realize if you want to race, you need upgrades. You can save a lot of $$ by not buying a DR10 and just buying all the 3rd party upgrades and rolling your own. Why drop $300.00 on a kit when you will be tossing 90% of the kit with upgrades?
