Love this. Are we still at one inch sea level rise every 5-7 years?

Long Island is also cloudy from waste plants dumping human waste during out going tide, worst offenders Greenwich harbor exit 3 waste plant, Stamford waste plant, waste plant portchester, and all waste plants from Saugatuck river all the way to Rhode Island to Massachusetts, long Island sound is truly the most polluted water in Northeast.

As someone who lives at the tip of this body of water, nothing scares me more than the tectonic and tsunami power the Atlantic still has the power to deliver to the east coast of the nation.

Great piece on a great man. I was part of the first graduating class at Stony Brook's W Averill Harriman School of Urban & Policy Sciences. Dr Koppelman was one of my professors. He was very passionate about the history and planning for Long Island, and was a student of the teachings/philosophy of Robert Moses. Dr Koppelman was a great asset to Stony Brook, LI, NY, and to his profession. RIP Dr Koppelman...

@13:40 - The Hempstead Sill is not shown in the correct position. It's true location is significantly farther to the west - about where the Oyster Bay - Rye Bridge was supposed to go. You are showing it as Asharoken to Norwalk.

I didn't realize that the club house had survived the storm! How did it vanish? Was it from the constant in-wash of ocean water/sand?
@SBUSoMAS
@SBUSoMAS Жыл бұрын
It may have survived the storm, but was severely damaged. I believe there is footage (not ours) of the building flooding. Dr. Charlie Flagg's photos show the breach over time, and the clubhouse appears in a lot of the photos.

So great that you guys took this (and the other footage). I've been documenting from the ground (still & video) since March 2020. Would love to put our footages together (along with Mike Bush's footage) to create a documentary. PS, I'm also developing a three-section- documentary on the history of our island and would love to get you involved.

The Earth is cooler with the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer. To perform as advertised the GHGs require “extra” energy upwelling from the surface radiating as a black body. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnvMm6ptYr56Y7c) The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render that scenario impossible. No greenhouse effect, no GHG warming, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming.

+1.5 C in the GMST anomaly over 140 years is a statistical hallucination not some kind of dangerous trend.
